I kinda knew at that age, just didn't have the words to describe it. But recognised later on when I looked back. Adds up just fine.

At first I thought 7 was too young to know, but then I remembered there was a 4 yr old girl in my son's pre-school class who had a crush on him. She told her mom he was so cute she wanted to kiss him. So, I guess you can know your sexual orientation really young. Also, I was thinking if OP has a lesbian friend with a same sex partner he might just be imagining the possibility that he prefers boys. It reminds me of this kid who I drove in carpool who said he'd like to try divorce when he grew up just to see what it's like. I'm not implying that I think someone can be turned gay or that he's being influenced to be gay, but I think he might still change his mind in a few years.

No. This is around the age when you start realising your sexuality. When I was 8 years old I used to fool around with the boy next door, the boy across the road and the boy over the back fence. I had my first real crush when I was 10. Never been sexually attracted to girls in my entire life.
