As of April 15th, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak departed on a five-day visit to Colombia and the U.S. during which he will meet with U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.

Attack against Iran remains option despite nuke talks – Israeli Minister

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Tuesday, April 17 that Israeli military action against Iran remains an option even while nuclear negotiations are under way. Barak also voiced strong doubts whether the talks would succeed.

Barak is due to meet U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta in Washington on Thursday (today, April 19th) amid speculation in the Israeli media that Israel has promised its main ally that it will refrain from attacking Iran while the talks continue.

"We are not committing to anything," Barak said, when asked whether any such pledge had been made. "There is not, there has not been, there should not be and there cannot be (such a promise)."

Barak also stated that Israelis fear that the negotiations between Iran and the United States, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany could drag on and waste "precious time".

Talks between Iran and the other world powers mentioned above began in Turkey this past Saturday and after a one-week hiatus are scheduled to resume in Baghdad in May.

I thought Obama wanted to attack Iran, the only reason he spoiled Israels plans is becuz he disagrees on timeline cuz he wants to wait after election..

Obama's primary goals above all others is to destroy both little Satan and great Satan. Everything you see domestically is touted as good for America when common sense shows it's about total destruction. So nothing he says about supporting Israel is true either.

Iran is just being used as a tool to nuclearize the middle east, then turn the world against the jewish people and disarm them like he's disarming America. He saved the mullahs' asses when they were about to be overthrown internally had he just lifted his pinkie to help. Why? We're about to find that out the hard way.

The timing for his election may play a role, but events could still come before then if the gameplan is for a big war with him as reluctant angry hero.
