CRAZY! Strange sounds in the sky April 2012 (Oregon) !

On Monday night (4-16-12) I was outside about midnight trying to get the cat in and I heard what sounded like train brakes but there was no train (the tracks are less than a half mile from my house and I can hear it when it comes through town). The sound would get fairly loud and slowly fade to where you could barely hear it then get loud again. I listened to it for 20-30 minutes, even had my mom come outside and she could hear it, too. She said it sounded like it was coming from the north and I thought it sounded like it was coming from the SE. The sound was still happening when I finally went into the house because it was too cold to stay outside any longer. I also noticed there were no cricket or frog noises like we normally get at night around here. The sound wasn't loud enough to be heard inside the house but it could definitely be heard outside. I don't have a video camera or digital camera with sound and my cell plan doesn't allow media transfer so I wasn't able to record it. I am about 20 +/- miles NW of where this video was supposedly recorded (as I understand it the video was recorded in Dallas Oregon).
