You see, this condescending attitude all the time is why a lot of people dislike you.

You and I have gone over this in the past. You should really tone it down, a lot. You condemn everyone who doesn't agree with you because you think you hold the ultimate truth, but you don't.

Hell can be a "mind set" which some people are living in. When we see evil, demons, ugliness everywhere, we are living in a self-made hell state. When we refuse to see goodness, beauty & divinity in every being, then we are creating our own hell-state. Our greatest task is to purge our own inner demons, so that we may have clear eyes to see & an open heart to love our neighbor unconditionally irregardless of their race, religion, status.

Joy, compassion, kindness, tolerance, understanding will allude us if we do not do the necessary work with our sick minds.

Prayer...is asking for guidance, help
Meditate....is listening & hearing the guidance/wisdom offered.
Contemplation......is to ponder the deeper meaning of an insight given, or a piece of text.

All 3 are key to developing a compassionate heart.

When a child enters then exits the birth canal, it is quite traumatic to the newborn, may even be considered a "mental breakdown" relative to what the fetus knew before in the womb. All necessary stress to enter a new world. Lisa, you are me before, and I am you after. Please keep questioning, but please stop judging.

David Sieveking is a young filmmaker who is a devoted fan of David Lynch. On Lynch's recommendation Sieveking started TM and started making a film about it. During the process of making the film Sieveking began to discover some things that unsettled him and he documented them in the film. When Lynch got wind of what they were he threatened a lawsuit unless he could approve the final cut.


What is Lynch worried about? He has a lot more money than the small production company making the film, and because of the attempted suppression the film has only been released in Germany.

Back in 1979, when I was living in Pune, India, as a starry-eyed devotee of the infamous guru Bhagwan Rajneesh, something happened that has disturbed me to this day. My wife is a neuro linguistic practitioner and Reiki Master. I can assure you that Reiki practiced the correct way is anything, but evil. I can also believe that quite possibly, Jesus practiced a form of Reiki. There are two different types of Reiki Practitioners, ones that realize that the power is within them and the others that rely on symbols and outside forces other than God. My wife took classes, but saw beyond the mumbo jumbo and she practices from a good place. I have seen her help people with life long ailments overcome there adversity and forgive themselves and others to get on the road to recovery.

I don't have any opinion of Kundalini other than everyone I now that practices it are still early on their path and looking for a rush. Most of these practices are only a baby step on the path to enlightenment. When all is said and done nothing will get you closer to God other than your commitment to get there yourself. This includes using religion of any kind, even Christianity. This is what Jesus taught. 2000 years later, millions of people are completely screwing up what he taught and are thinking that riding the coat tails of the great master is going to get them to heaven.

Remember that Jesus was beyond judgement. He even asked God to forgive those that were killing him. If people wish to practice Kundalini or Reiki, they are potentially only doing harm to themselves. Pointing this out to them is futile. The best spiritual leaders lead by example. Be the light to show them the light. You cannot act one way and teach another.

Choose to be as those you are striving to be like. Death cannot promote peace. War cannot promote life. Hatred cannot justify God. In other words OP, as someone once told me, if you think you are so spiritual, you sure don't act like it.

What's really the difference between the words 'prayer' and 'meditation' other than the semantic and cultural baggage that comes with EACH word?

I haven't been viewing this thread since my last post but noticed it kept returning to the first page.

My curiosity got the best of me.

Why am I not surprised to see who's posting on it?

Man's endeavor to try to change something that only God can do--a person's heart.

You cannot practice kundalini, it is risen or it is not. One cannot do anything to raise it, except to become spiitually mature. Those practicing it, then, do not have it. Your post is otherwise excellent. When the energies of the Father arrive, people will raise their kundalini or they won't. Those that did not, have a long wait for another opportunity. FEAR stands in their way.

Is prayer not just a form of meditation, but with the Christ essence as its focus?

Just goes to show you how much I know about Kundalini. I just know that most of my friends that speak of it are a bit odd. Maybe because they are trying to show off and don't really understand it. You know when you are truly enlightened when you don't find the need to tell anyone.

One is active, one is passive.

Exactly! Prayer is an active form of conversing with a higher being to ask for guidance, ask forgiveness and to give thanks. Meditation is passive in that you are completely clearing your mind in order to see things as they really are.
