Living down the road maybe? A lie that takes years to be fulfilled is still a LIE. They were beings that lived forever in the garden, and then they ate of the forbidden fruit, got thrown out of the garden, became material and mortal beings and died. God told the truth of what would happen to them if they ate of the forbidden fruit. It may of been god that made them mortal and die but he still told the truth of what would happen.
