interesting thoughts .The pressure is extreme in Japan area
and it has to be released .As long as there are continuosly
larger quakes .things will be fine for awhile but mathematicaly that patern will stop for long enough to trigger big one and This event is about to happen

Re: Next big one will be 60 miles north- north east of Tokyo
Earth Quake STORMS not Swarms. If you chart all th earthquakes to date they just move up or down the line tranferring their energy to the next spot or point. Earthquakes travel.

If you plot the activity in the area from the last few years you can see a distinct pattern. That will be your very big clue as to where the next one will be. Ok already.

Yes a biggy is way over due for the area. That wasn't even the one they are worried about. The one they worry abot is on the other side and on the other plate/Fault. There are 3 major ones and many smaller ones.

It's very possible. Maybe with epicenter at
Ibaraki prefecture (north-east of Tokyo)
or maybe at the south of Tokyo, where
scientist predict that the next one will be.
But I read somewhere that they also expect
something like a 7 or more at the north of
Tokyo, there's a high probability.

The Tōkai earthquakes are major earthquakes that have occurred regularly with an interval of 100 to 150 years in the Tōkai region of Japan. The Tōkai segment has been struck by earthquakes in 1498, 1605, 1707 and 1854. Given the historic regularity of these earthquakes, Kiyoo Mogi in 1969 pointed out that another great shallow earthquake was possible in the "near future" (i.e., in the next few decades). Shinichi Sakai, from the University of Tokyo, predicted on 23 January 2012 that the probability of a major Tōkai earthquake occurring during the next four years would be 70%, and over the next 30 years is 98%.

Well, apparently the forum software can't handle those special japanese characters in the link. Sorry 'bout that.

Here's a clean link to the same article: [link to en.wikipedia.org]
