Quoting: Charles Lee Ray Idk why they stopped selling them in Canada. What are some of your favorite products no longer available? My grandmother used to get these cookies that were kinda like Ritz crackers with lemon icing filling. I haven't seen them since the 60s. They were awesome. |

GLP Angel User ID: 5050586 United States 04/21/2012 10:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I thought of two more shampoos I really miss. In addition to Faberge Wheat Germ and Honey: Quoting: So Not a Princess Lemon Up. For oily hair. Came in a lemon yellow bottle with a lemon for the cap. Psssssst. A spray that was mostly powder and it let you spot dry oily areas if you just had to go out and didn't have time for a proper shampoo. The commercial accented each and every s in the name: P S SS SS ST. And back to candy, there were "Records." For a penny you got a roll of ribbon licorice wrapped around a little red dot of sugar candy in the center. It looked like a phonograph record. Not the best, mind you, as I was not into licorice all that much, but for a penny you got a lot of involvement with this candy. So Not a Princess User ID: 4645226 United States 04/22/2012 12:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You can still get Lemon Up at the Vermont Country Store. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7694243 [link to www.vermontcountrystore.com] and Carrington Cologne elsewhere..but it sure isn't in my price range [link to www.perfumenetwork.com] I miss Marathon candy bars and Buc Wheats cereal. Buc Wheats was the only cereal with added sugar we were allowed as children. lol Thanks for the tip about the Lemon Up! I'd love to give you good karma, AC. Maybe you can register and I will. I found a place to buy my much beloved Brer Rabbit Syrup, in a similar fashion, after it disappeared from shelves in stores here in Texas. It is strong in Molasses and my grandmother and I were the only ones in the family that liked it. I recommend it to all--it has a very hearty flavour that you will love or hate. Start with the mild, before trying the full-flavour type. By the way, I remember ssing Marathon candy bars as a child, but I never bought one or got to have one. I bet they were good! So Not a Princess User ID: 4645226 United States 04/22/2012 01:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ah those square cinnamon suckers. Those were great. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14790771 Other products I miss, and being a fix-it/ mechanic type, I miss the good products that really worked. Carburator cleaners that really worked, R12 refrigerant for car ac systems that worked very well, (lead) house paint that lasted for decades, asbestos that was a great insulator, Clothes detergents that worked so good that not only did they remove stains, but the color from the clothes given enough time. But all that has changed, everything has been reformulated ro removed from the market. Thanks EPA I wonder if you can still buy house paint with lead in Mexico? My husband keeps talking about going down to Mexico to get leaded paint so that our next house re-paint will be the last. It sounds good to me, as our children are all grown, and frak the government anyway. I grew up in a house with asbestos siding, and I've made it almost to 60. Maybe we develop immunities when exposed. Perhaps a little radiation is good for you... And the lead could help if it was not good for you, right? So Not a Princess User ID: 1452738 United States 04/24/2012 12:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I forgot my most missed possession: Quoting: Esoteric Morgan My Datsun 280ZX, a 2+2 with t-tops. I had two of them. The best car I ever drove. One of these days I will find another! I think my next door neighbor had one of those in the early 80's. We worked for Exxon on diff floors, and when my car was in the shop, she gave me a ride home one day. She stopped for gas on the way home, and when she got out, the car told her, in a feminine robot voice, "door is a jar." It didn't look like a jar, but I fell in love with the little car's sense of humour. Good karma to you, gal, for making me remember a happy memory.
