He has to "prove" himself to the gang by doing something harmful to law enforcement.

What happens with motorcycle clubs in countries which aren't Australia? In Australia, the police and government are saying that 'bikies' (as they are commonly called in Australia) are just a bunch of criminals. Various governments are trying to pass laws saying that these motorcycle clubs are illegal, because they say that the clubs are committing crimes. The media calls any trouble which involves a motorcycle club member "The Bikie Wars". Is this sort of thing happening in other countries too?

It is unfair to make the clubs illegal, just because the government and police call them criminals. Surely they should make proper efforts to detect crime, arrest suspects, and have fair trials with appropriate results if found guilty. Just saying "Oh motorcycle clubs are full of criminals so we're going to make the clubs illegal" is not the right way to go for the government. They should simply arrest people who are suspected of committing crimes, and send them for a fair trial.

As it is the clubs are fighting these unfair laws in the courts. And the clubs are winning so far!

If people want to get together and ride motorbikes around, the government should not try to stop them.
