It seems like it is high efficiency and the storage capabilities in it's ability to re-gasify from a liquid state make it sound pretty great... The Oil companies need the demand high and don't like fuel efficiency. |

Quoting: centrist77 Apparently when the guys at Popular Science were going through their archives they found a note inside the December 1928 issue, and it had Web Address On It. The web address linked to a encrypted page within their own system. The say that they can't get in but they know somebody has been coming and going. They link a photo of the clues written and tell you the answers are hidden on specific pages of the issue and on those pages there are small photos of the covers of those issues. NOW AT THIS POINT I WOULD NORMALLY SAY ITS A STUPID LITTLE JOKE UNTIL I FOUND THIS WRITTEN BY ONE OF THE EDITORS IN 2004. Here is a quote. "What's upsetting in these examples is not so much the positions taken by reasonable people on ethical and scientific issues as the fact that debates seem shaped by political operatives who bypass reason and instead leverage ignorance the way dot-com-era Wall Street leveraged phantom assets." "Here I might trot out the lemmings-headed-for-a-cliff comparison -- what we don't know will hurt us, ignorance is not bliss, etc. But the lemmings story is a myth. Pudgy Arctic rodents don't run headlong off cliffs. People, metaphorically, do." This is what came up next From: WSWNew To: 7S_main 7S, you're a genius. I've gone over the files you uploaded with our AI specialists and they are ecstatic. There's a lot of adaptation work to do on the navigation intelligence software here to apply to airships rather than a fleet of planes, but the core technology is absolutely what we needed -- to recognize hotspots, to train the drone tech to choose effective flight paths, to make a fleet of genuinely learning machines. It's too bad we can't publicize this just yet. But you've done your part to save the world. The new contact address for Pleiades is [email protected] -- please use this if you wish to keep in touch regarding the future status of the project. |

I owe you a drink. The file you located is the last piece we need to start assembling Angel. When it didn't turn up in the dropbox at the scheduled time, I really thought that somehow it had been intercepted by someone internal, a mole in our system. Well, that hardly matters at this point, does it? There must have been a technical glitch that wound up misdirecting the file to where you found it. And now I can finally get some sleep. Honestly I'm not sure which of those two things I'm more grateful for. For further dispatches regarding Project ANGEL, please email [email protected]. |

It is therefore difficult to be certain, but it is clear Daedaleans are closing in on operability. Most components are complete and there is increasing cross-chatter with other cells. As to the intended outcome of the project, I have reason to suspect the Hypermusic.67 was not canceled; other skunkworks may have been scratched off government books but research not actually discontinued. Interference is implicated all the way back to NOLO operators. Refs to studies on Perseus, Condor, Strato, and a fourth; name unknown? Please proceed! PS. Appreciated the hint about using the archive's word frequency explorer. Makes it much easier to scan for covers and dated issues. theseus From: 7S_main To: WSW Good work on the recent report. Daedalus Control shows similar signs of greater activity and anticipation recently, with, unfortunately, a matching increase in security. Nonetheless, I have been able to get a look at some of the incoming correspondence and decode pieces based on your recent clues. Investigation turned up signs of another false "shutdown" — a project nominally closed 2008 despite the completion of working prototype. Same type of craft as the Perseus, Condor, etc, but intended for launch from submarines. And a reference to Trident...? Do you recognize the project? cormorant From: WSW To: 7S_main Do please be careful, 7S. I know you and Daedalus Control have a long history, but he is extremely committed to the success of the project, and if he finds you've been playing for the other side all this time... well, just watch yourself. It does look as though there are some additional projects involved beyond simple aircraft construction; here are the indicators I have been able to assemble so far. — mention of following up work by "bad boy of robotics" — applying similar learning concepts to "'pelican formation' project" I think they've named the resulting experiment by joining together the names of those two projects. (Whose bright idea was it to *advertise* that, and why didn't you manage to stop them??) Sorry. I know you're doing the best you can, but the situation is extremely fragile right now. The success of Daedalus depends on being able to bring all the component parts together rapidly and without discovery, or it is likely that we'll get government attention where we don't want it. I have reason to believe someone here is viewing a broader selection of files than they should. You are best placed to investigate. Seems to be a project for AI that controls aircraft and independently acts on what to do with recognized objects. There was a WEBSITE ADDRESS in the December 1928 issue, that is where this is all from. A website address. Before the internet existed. Before computers existed. |

Eli minating this leaves us with many usable technologies, however. Solar energy conservation — adapt for upper surface of Pleiades airship if superior to existing tech, meeting EU standards. Believe those involved would give up their information if grilled. Drone flight intelligence program — this could be the link we've needed for the Pleiades fleet, especially if the communications frequency , surveillance and ground visualizer programs are good enough to automatically detect emergency areas in need of humanitarian assistance. Analysis of crisis situations may even include keyword recognition from worldwide communications broadcasts. Weaponry — sabotage! Unfortunately I haven't been able to find definite information on how they're planning to arm the Daedalus planes; only evidence for stealth , refueling, fuel conservation, possible submarine launch, and guidance systems. Over 200 files I've seen but not 1 deals with missiles or lasers. Whatever gives them firepower must be under a higher level of security than everything else. Hang on, I think I've been detected. Don't send anything more to my account. <and trailing off, without explanation:> THAT WONT GELL |
