The persians have always had a great eye for beauty. All the fine details, colours, poetry, gold/copper and other metals intertwined in the structure of those buildings. So very beautiful and dreamy. I admire their hard work in creating such extraordinary results with their unique points of view. It's a good time in history where we can find pictures and videos of these amazing things.

I hope these things are preserved for a long time to come, although I see a world where globalization will slowly chip away at cultures and objects of cultures making a bland one world nation. A one world nation of corporate buildings, surburban homes, target and walmarts, fastfood joints and entertainment centres.

The comments on this thread remind me of the people from the movie idiocracy. But this is where the world is heading I guess...

When this work of art was built, the area it was build in was called Persia; therefore, the art is Persian.

It was part of the Persian Empire, was it not?

Don't they teach World History anymore? Not at you, IMAX...I"m just wondering where the poster is getting that there is a distinction between Iran and Persia during the historical time when this building was built.

yes its still persia, the name Iran was derived from the famous poet Ferdowsi which Reza Shah decided to call his country IRAN when he got to the throne
