Wonder if it took any damage. sunspotkiller When you judge someone else, It doesn't define who they are, It defines who you are. Be love! “Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much.” |

Having said that..... I Took someone shopping in Rancho Cucamonga and heard a boom, like someone banging a large aluminum sheet (like thunder).... people looked briefly, then went about their business. NO shaking felt, just the sound. |

Hurts pretty bad. Could really use some muscle relaxers. sunspotkiller When you judge someone else, It doesn't define who they are, It defines who you are. Be love! “Kind words do not cost much. I'm surprised that it made that booming sound, haven't really experienced that with a quake, in my memory. I was standing in a CVS drug store when this one hit, so guess I'd have to be sitting on something to have felt it shaking. We were shook here in San Diego with a shallow 3.5 about 25 hours before today's shaker, so I know what you mean. I was asleep and just felt the bed shaking a bit, which is best, because quakes make me get very anxious and I run outside, haha. Every since the 6.7 back in 1987 up in Northridge, I became really jumpy. I was at work on a 3rd floor of an aerospace company office building in the LA area, and everyone was under their desks, praying to Jesus for their lives. Ceiling tiles were falling, floors bucking at some points. Then we evacuated, and went to one person's car who had his top down and listened on the radio. I had family whose brick fireplace collapsed and walls cracked, near the epicenter. We went back into the building and then there was like a 4.0 aftershock or something and we all didn't know whether to run out the door again, or what. It was hard to forget about it as every time I'd walk down certain hallways, there was that buckle in the floor. Ever since the Fuku quake, I watch the quake maps even more frequently, checking them throughout the day, and have a mental image of the usual worldwide activity. I had noticed, up until maybe a month or two ago, that the west coast of North America was relatively quiet, compared to the rest of the Pacific "ring of fire" [link to www.worldatlas.com] Now, it's really active all up and down, from Mexico to northern Canada, where before we had just mostly 1's and 2's. It definitely has our attention here. I do feel that a lot of California is doomed to have the big one and a lot of us could very well die, in the most extreme case. May as well enjoy life daily and just prepare as we can. |

DIGITAL (OP) User ID: 3394607 United States 04/23/2012 04:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | by the way... this one actually had a BOOM sound to it.. right before I felt the jolt.. I heard a deep boom.. to the people who are saying stuff like "earthquakes aren't rare in california" no they aren't, however we rarely feel the ones that happen daily.. but that aside.. I've lived here for 29 years.. experienced the bigger quakes and the smaller ones.. this was very much different than all of those. BOOM- quick jolt that felt like it might get bigger - then nothing.. quickly checked chandaler (this has always been my method to check if there has been an EQ or not) it was not moving... it normally moves even on the smallest quakes like this 3.9 Im actually very suprised on how wide spread this EQ was felt.. anyways.. long story short..
