Fireball, sonic boom, earthquake. Felt, seen, and heard widespread. I'm no scientist, but doesn't simple deduction say that it was a meteor impact? It's not like there was a fireball, sonic boom, then an unrelated earthquake that occurred simultaneously.

So why are these seemingly minor, shallow earthquakes, creating this 'boom' phenomena around the U.S. & Canada?

I'm seeing reports that suggest they are related;

------------------------

April 20, 2012 - Persistent Booms Linked to
Rare “Earthquake Swarm” in New Brunswick, Canada.

- “It sounds as though someone was upstairs and dropped
an encyclopedia on the floor. You might jump for a second.”

- Connie Klein, McAdam, NB Village Clerk

- “But what is particularly unusual about what is happening in McAdam
is that it is basically happening directly beneath the village —
and at a depth of less than one kilometre.”

- Stephen Halchuk, Seismologist, Natural Resources Canada

----------------------

At the north end of the small, 1400 population Canadian village
of McAdam, New Brunswick, (red circle) beginning at 1:40 AM on
March 10, 2012, residents were awakened by what sounded like “an explosion,
rattling windowpanes and knocking pictures off the wall.” Since then, there have
been almost 40 more booms and quakes, all small magnitude, but seismic
experts are puzzled by the shallow depth of less than 1 kilometer (.6 miles).
The University of New Brunswick and Natural Resources Canada have
installed three seismographs in the small village of 1400 to learn more.

About an hour ago i watched a news story on hln. They were reporting people from Oregon to California heard a huge boom and it rattled their house. They report that it was a fireball. Sorry cant post a link from my p.o.s phone. Google "hln fireball/meteor in Oregon/California"

if not i googled "metor shakes house" and it was the first result. It was not an EQ...thats why there was a "sudden" 3.9 on the scale that immediately went back down.

Ok enough with the EQ crap. It wasnt and EQ. I enjoy reading the conspiracies and all, and some seem to have some merit. BUT you cannon claim the same thing over and over and over is related to whatever uou WANT it to be related to. If your gonna be serious about this shit then be OBJECTIVE. sick of seeing the same shit posted over and over and its wrong most of the time.

I felt that in Vancouver not too long ago.

Like a sudden, loud crackling/sonic boom in the sky, accompanied by a "vibration" of the house, but not an earthquake...

and def not thunder.

I am thinking all these booms and fireballs are related.

Interesting. Here is the one I was talking about from 22nd.

"RENO. Nevada – Residents in Nevada and California were shaken awake by a loud explosion and a light show in the sky Sunday morning, FOX 40 reports.

911 centers on both sides of the Sierra Nevada were flooded with calls reporting the explosion, while others reported fireball sightings."

Anyway, gotta go now. Hope this all gets sorted out.

You are referencing an article from the "Hindustan Times" from India. Of course it says it's "today". They are a many hours ahead of any time zone in North America.

These were two separate events in different areas of the state over 24 hours apart.

The article you checked is regarding the meteor event that happened yesterday morning (4/22) Pacific Daylight Time. The earthquake this morning was 4/23 @10:37 Pacific Daylight Time (17:37:02 UTC).

This quake was pretty shallow..
 Quoting: The Chosen One

If 8.1 miles is shallow, then yes.

Just a 3.9 quake in SoCal....not a big deal. Those saying it's a foreshock might be right, but they're only guessing. Not a meteorite people.....sheesh. OP and I would've heard/seen the impact. San Onofre Nuclear plant has been off-line, and will be, for an extended time for unrelated repairs. No doom here today....just another day in paradise.

Do you Cali people have your bug out bags together and ready to go if you have to run out of the house?

Imagine if you got hit with an 8+, your house collapses along with everything around you, how will you survive? You need food, water, clothes, cash, small radio, ect ready to go so you can just grab it on the way out.

I had one when I lived there and I still have one now since I live about 200 miles from the New Madrid Fault..

An earthquake of that magnitude doesn't generate enough energy to be felt in such a wide area.

Having said that.....

I Took someone shopping in Rancho Cucamonga and heard a boom, like someone banging a large aluminum sheet (like thunder).... people looked briefly, then went about their business.

NO shaking felt, just the sound.

It's been rainy and gloomy today in Orange County as well. (I'm in north OC)

They reported some rain for later in the week but it was supposed to be clear blue skies till then.

There's definitely been a weird charge in the air lately - many can report this sensation in various locations across the globe - so I can't strictly claim that as a unique phenomenon that's descended on us so-cal'ers.

I've been sick as was unfortunately asleep at the time this took place -- so nothing to report on the home front. Keeping an eye out...

There is most definitely a suspended awaiting feeling.

I was just contemplating yesterday that it feels like the calm before the storm.

Was a 3.1 or something.
