Re: Has ANYone Else Died????? of course and come back?
I died in July of 1992. We were driving home from a funpark at about 7pm, all drunk. A truck suddenly braked in front of us, and my friend driving panicked, slammed on the brakes.

The car went nose first into a ditch at 90 miles per hour, did 2 full 360s in the air and came to a stop nose first further down the same ditch. None of us were wearing seatbelts. The last thing I saw was my face going towards the windshield, and my last visual sight was a spiderweb pattern of shattered glass. Moments later, I was sitting in the passenger seat. The windshield was not shattered. Smoke was coming out of the engine bonnet. We all bolted from the car, the cops came, a report was filed, we went home, went to KFC and then proceeded to watch the opening night of Buffy the Vampire Slayer at our local theater.

We all felt extremely strange, and not connected to the world. We all seemed to remember our last moments, but those last moments didn't seem to have actually happened.

Years later, having barely accepted the idea that I was actually still alive and not in a self-constructed afterlife, I was exposed the concept of quantum immortality. The idea being that in any scenario where there two outcomes, one being you live, and one being you die, you experience the outcome where you live, simply from the fundamental fact that you cannot experience non-existence. You can only experience existence. So in that moment of near death, the quantum path that leads to your continued survival is the one you inevitably experience. Once all paths of quantum survival are extinguished, and the only remaining path is death, you die.

But deep down inside I, and all my friends know the truth. We died that day. Quantum mechanics may have spared my life in a technical sense, but deep down, I know I died in that moment.

What color was it?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14939483

Silver white, very bright. It was far away but yet at the same time it was close. Like the sun, sorta...

There used to be a syfy commercial in the 90's of a black ball that kind of reminded me of what I had seen. But the syfy one looked darker.

When I go in detail people tend to pick apart words. Like I said hard to put words to this experience. I'm 80% happy with why I have said.
I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three.

Got me once. When I was 9 my epiglotis swelled up and closed off my airway. Got tubed and bought back. Gone for 2 minutes. I do not remember anything, but afterwards, I stopped seeing/hearing things that supposedly were not there. I still received knowledge of things, and feelings you would call gut instinct. The visuals pretty much stopped. I guess it blinded my third eye.

Several years ago I was in a coma for thirty days due to Legionella. A very difficult pneumonia.

They placed me in a coma for nearly 30 days and said I could not have possibly had any thought.

Well I did. It was very abstract and very memorable. Completely void of our reality. Somewhere far and distant. Yes I did have thought. Yes I did have a very different strange existence.

Science knows little and mostly is theory. Just like religion is about faith.

I tell you.....there is more. Incredibly more.

The doctors said I should have died. Maybe I did.

Oddly enough, you put what I have thought has been happening all along to words! I was in a nasty four wheeler accident when I was 15. I flew 60 feet in the air to come crashing down with the four wheeler fast approaching. It nicked my helmet and kept tumbling past me. I really feel like that day as soon as I landed I left that reality, and entered another one. The one where I got up and walked back 2 miles to civilization, severely dehydrated and bruised up. But alive. Leaving my dead body in the other "quantum path"

No one has ever explained this to me or presented it like you have today. It was as if it was an instinct, or just known.

Thank you!!

how about what you experienced while away? I wasn't one who was "brought back to life" by doctors, they declared me dead and sent me to the refrigerator, when I awoke, I was confused, and the look of horror on the attendants face when I spoke was trippy. I must say, I am glad to be here no matter what,

There is NO NEED to fear death.

Actually that isn't true unless Jesus knows you and he has saved you from eternal hell. The bible says that we are kept all of our lives as slaves to the fear of death. Unless you have salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the father but through me (Jesus said). The penalty for sin is death. Eternal death in hell. But for God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

I think it was God that talked to me and wanted me to go away with him. I wasnt too pleased to hear such a request and tried to convince him I could accomplish the same purpose here on earth, raising my kids. It was a long a tortuous conversation...

Re: Has ANYone Else Died????? of course and come back?
20 yrs ago I was in a MAJOR car accident and died in the emergency room, I "Woke up" in the hospital morgue, naked with a sheet over me and freezing cold. The doctors only comments was "you know you left us for a while"

White light, and the feeling of light penetrating me, so bright and white , but not harmful or blinding. A feeling of COMPLETE acceptance and love.

I chose to come back because I "knew" I was to have a child.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14758686

Sounds exactly like one of those TV specials.

Funny how everyone who has a near death experience, says they were told to come back because they have some special purpose. Not because the doctors were successful in resuscitating them. I won't outright discount the claims, since I've never had an experience like it, it just seems peculiar and borderline suspect. Just sayin.

Re: Has ANYone Else Died????? of course and come back?
I assume 'died' means your heart stopped, you died? I remember 2 seperate 'out of body' experiences, both under general anasthetic. First one in hospital around 4 or 5, floating along ceilings, seeing my hospital bed newly made up in the ward.. seeing the other kids play, then 'rushed' back.

Second, getting a tooth out at the dentist, about 11, went thru the frosted glass to float over our car outside, roof level. Birds flying about were 'aware' I was there I think, well.. they seemed to fly up to me.. looking at me. Took the dentist ages to wake me up again, I didn't wanna go back.. felt calm & peaceful. No white light, tunnels or anything. Time & space felt irrelevant, no sense of temperature or heavyness, could go thru any solid object at ease.
I've spoken to older people who've had heart attacks or died, claiming they saw a white light, relatives (tho' they didn't think they were 'real' relatives) telling them to go back, with a feeling of both trauma and/or calmness. My only real fear of death, well.. apart from the sheer scary trauma & physical pain.. obviously.. is the feeling of 'not being prepared or not having done anything I wanted to do yet.' Even tho' I've accepted we're seperate from our physical bodies & even to some extent our brain-mind-memories.. the question is.. who are we.. without the influence from our physical senses/memory & mind-brain/dna set-up? Who are we? Self Awareness, love, wisdom, art & sciences are probably a way forward to finding out. Having the odd 'off the wall' experience may give clues.. or possibly.. mis-lead. Apart from OBE's, have had ufo, telepathy, ghosts, miracle cure experiences.. with telepathy a very common occurence. I do have my problems, not walking the path I don't think.. just trying to find the path. It's hard to do things alone tho'. Maybe being alone is the only way, as packs & tribes of religions of new agers etc.. is obviously 'not' the way forward at all. Religious people are trying to find love via 'materialism.' whereas material energy is lacking in love by it's very nature.. being slowed down energy en all. Love is 'fast!!'

One way to answer this question is to compare the experiences of those who survived jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge against the experiences of skydivers. From its completion in 1937 up until 2003, more than 1200 people have jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge in order to commit suicide (Friend 2003). The distance from the road surface of the bridge to the water is about 220 feet (67 meters), and it takes about 4 seconds to fall this distance before impacting at about 129 miles per hour (207 kilometers per hour). At this speed impact with the water is similar to high-speed impact with a concrete wall, so the resulting injuries are dreadful and nearly always fatal. Golden Gate Bridge jumpers who survived did not die because they entered the water feet first, suffering broken ankles and other lower limb fractures. At the time of his study, psychiatrist David Rosen interviewed 7 of the 10 people then known to have survived jumps from either the Golden Gate Bridge or the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The 7 persons interviewed were between 16 and 36 years old. Except for the various reasons that they attempted suicide, they were all in good health, and they all expected to die as a result of jumping from their bridge. Surviving jumpers reported undergoing the following experiences as they fell toward the water (Rosen 1975):

Time seemed to slow down, for the fall was experienced as taking a long time for each of them.
Feelings of peace and tranquility.

Re: Has ANYone Else Died????? of course and come back?
Odd. I traveled to Jeruselum, circa pre history, and met Peter, Jesus, Barabas, and flew in on the wind,,, people were expecting me and since women in shawls were covering their eyes as I approached from above, I realized I was emitting a brilliant white light, casting dark shadows as I moved by. I traveled there several times, floating above my hospital bed, through the roof, then through time and space... Pretty exhilirating and liberating, actually, seeings I was strapped to a bed, tubes stuck in my nose and throat...

ACTUALLY there is NO NEED to fear death, period. It doesn't matter if "jesus knows you" or not! Do you know how ridiculous you sound with that? So wait, you mean to tell me that the child that is born in the middle of the amazon and has no way of knowing who Jesus is, would be doomed to burn in the eternal smoldering bowels of hell? That makes no sense dude....We all just go back to the source having learned/accomplished/experienced etc... whatever it is our souls came to do. Sorry for the rant but I'm just tired of dumb a$$e$

All I can tell you is that time stopped for me. It sort of just melted, this was a long time ago in the '78.

Everything is made of time. Imagine a car driving down the street, the time it took to make the trip down the street, the materials that make up the car that were once raw resources, the time it took to build, ...the trees along the road that were once seeds, and maybe someday cut down for boards.

The ultimate building block is time.

Yes, in fact I had a N.D.E in 2004 at the age of 25. I had a "freak" heart attack. I experienced almost all the stages known to be associated with the experience. I was given the oppurtunity to come back or stay and like you I chose to come back because I was to have a child. My daughter was born in 2009.

Your story amazes me!!! How long were you actually dead in real-time? As you know on the other side time is obsolete.

I can relate to the confusion you had when you "returned". I had no knowledge of a N.D.E. before I had mine and also didnt grow up with a religious background, although I believed in some form of God. When I came back I knew something VERY profound and divine had occured. I had a hard time explaining what happened in words even though I remembered in detail the events. Untill I started reading books and got answers I thought I was losing my mind!!! It was horrible but I felt like a different person.

Did you come back with any gifts you didnt recall having previously OP? hearts
 Quoting: Nicolemare

wow, I had to "learn" what happened so I didn't loose it... I think my down time was 27 mins. and I resonate what you are describing. It fills my heart to hear your story :)

3 fucking times.

First time I was electrocuted by a 5 ton 440v Mixer that was shorted out.

AC grabbed me, I remember everything turning purple, throwing up and then blacking out.

Some dude knocked my off the ladder with a broom handle.

I can't explain the pain the next couple of days. Anybody electrocuted by AC knows the pain associated with that as your body is forced into a work out that should be stretched out over two months into a few seconds.

Second time, 55 mph wrecked my Thundercat. Smacked into the back of a trailer a dude that crossed three lanes into my lane and stopped in. After I hit the back of the trailer, I flopped over the bars, my back hit a wire spool, then I flew back out and got my collar stuck on the very back of the trailer then I was told he took back off. Passing cars had to flag him down and stop him. I woke up a few minutes later......man that was a trip. I was off for a week. My lower back looked like ...well It was mean looking.

3rd time racing CBR1000RR

75mph hairpin turn, foot peg dug in....need I say more? I was told it was spectacular. Broken Collar bone, compression fracture on my hand, twisted ankle, compressed ribs...that one hurt. I had a cold as well so I was sneezing a lot. Crack a bone in your chest then sneeze if you really want to know pain. Fuck kidney stones. Those feel good compared to that shit.

I've suffered a lot of abuse. I must have 9 fucking lives cuz I'm still here.

About 5 years ago I had an experience best described as Odd, unfortunately it was very ugly period of my life. While I wasn't suicical I suddenly became enraged and tried to hurt myself with a self inflicted gun-shot wound. All I can tell you is that it appeared that time Stopped and was restarted. Under normal circumstances I should be be dead twice over.

Technically not a NDE, but very odd none the less.

You're an idiot. There's multitudes of NDE's where unbelievers experienced the same thing this person did. Read your bible. Start with Ephesians 1:10, 1st Corinthians 15:22, Colossians 1:20.

The verse you quoted says nothing about belief in Jesus. He simply said that thru him he made the way. It's like me saying I built this bridge and nobody gets from one side to the other without crossing the bridge I made. Nowhere did I say you have to even know who I was.

All scriptures dealing with belief are to old covenant Israel and deal with the 1000 year millinneal kingdom. Not all of humanity and eternity.
