So...would you?

I spent the first 10 years out of college pursuing a dream... a few injuries later, and that was sidelined. Never forgotten, just sidelined.

The next 10 years, I did what everyone says you are "supposed" to do. I got the corporate job, was the company's #1 sales guy, won the awards, made a lot of friends who started as clients...and the company was bought by another, who let's me go as they have their own sales force.

So it was off to another and sure enough, the same results, always placed the betterment of the client #1 and always did what was right in profitability and protection of my employer... low and behold, the market takes a down turn and they "change my responsibilities", as they take pride in stating they have "never fired an employee" (I should have been smart enough to see though this one, but I didn't)...

So, they "change my responsibilities" and make the expectations impossible. I left.

A year has now passed and the prospects of the "corporate thing" doesn't look bright, I have used all my saving and decided to push the reset button and go back to what I was doing when pursuing my dream. It is not too late and the skills are still there...

So, now it's part-time work at 10 bucks an hour... no credit (still have a little debt to payoff, but not much). Parked the car (which has long been paid for), and pedal my way 4 miles to work 4 days a week for 5 hours per day.

Having the ability to simplify life and still pursue my dream, I am thankful for... but the prospect of scraping by is scary... real scary. Although, being at the end of your savings and that rope is even scarier...

So, I am back at it. Thought I would post it up in the event someone else finds themselves in a similar situation and has a bit of uncertainty. Will it be "Great"!... Who knows. But being able to chase my dream one last time is worth it. The simplicity of life will be a huge adjustment, but once I come up for a deep breath, all should be fine; I hope.

Don't let the system beat you. Grind it out and make something happen. I'm trying and if you are in a similar situation, get out and do it!
