Schummer looking to confront/overrule SCOTUS if they rule in favor of State's right.....>>>>>
Really don't know why people aren't worried about this piece of the AZ immigration law puzzle:

"Anticipating an unfavorable ruling, Sen. Charles E. Schumer, a New York Democrat who is a critic of the Arizona law, said Tuesday that if the court does uphold the state’s law, he will introduce legislation to overturn that decision and grant the federal government sole control on immigration matters.

Mr. Schumer’s legislation would also overturn a 2011 Supreme Court case that upheld a separate Arizona law that requires all businesses in the state to check employees’ legal status using E-Verify, the federal government’s electronic verification system.
"

That's right, Schumer wants Congress to overrule the Supreme Court. Isn't that what Obama wanted to do with the Health Care decision? Seems defying the SCOTUS is getting more and more traction IMO.

Looks like this is just one more part of a concerted effort to publicly attack the Court's final say so in terms of Constitutionality. An attempt to put the Congress above those that are intended to watchdog them.

Not saying it's gonna happen, but part of a push...

But it seems like it's part of a push to swing opinion towards the idea that the SCOTUS is not to be viewed as the final say so.

Remember Obama's BS about how the SCOTUS shouldn't have the right to strike down legislation passed by an elected Congress?

We've got two bills before the SCOTUS that have been directly challenged by either the POTUS or Congress in regards to their power to 'lay down the law'.

Schummer and his pals are actually doing the American people a favor.

The way they've been pushing this crap lately more and more people are finally starting to get it.

300 million Americans versus a couple thousand Stalinists are pretty good odds.

Wasn't Congress completely under Democrat control a couple of years ago?

Yes...it was....for 2 years...and then they lost that advantage in 2010 elections.
They will lose even MORE in the 2012 elections.

Bet you didn't think there was a chance in hell Barack would be president either.

Or that the Healthcare fiasco wouldn't pass.

Or that the debt ceiling wouldn't be raised.

Or that Ronnie was the best thing that ever happened to this country.

Dems took control of the House in 2006 (233/202), held it in 2008 (257/178) and lost control in 2010 (193/242).

Dems had a slim advantage in the Senate in 2006 (51/49), ruled in 2008 (59/41), and as of 2010 still retain control (53/47).

Looks like they had complete control for 4 years, Ace.

Get your facts straight, and reread my point.

Never said Chuck's bill would pass, but seemed like Democrats are making an effort to swing public opinion away from the SCOTUS being the law of the land.

So thanks for trying, and have yourself a clupon, on me.
