The economy was racing downhill in 2007 and the media was putting tremendous pressure on Bush to stop referring to the meltdown as "tough economic times" but to call it what it was: a "recession". I've been in business for over 20 years and my books pinpoint that the economy climaxed in December 2005 and turned downward in January 2006. In fact, I had a house for sale during that time that jumped up well over $50,000 in equity during 2005 and when I put it up for sale in February 2006, real estate suddenly dried up and ALL the houses on the market were losing $5,000 to $10,000 a MONTH in value. That was in 2006 ! By 2007 the economy was seeing massive layoffs and foreclosures. Were you still in high school back then?? . |
