You guys in England even had some pretty serious size hailstorms recently. Not a peep about those. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2892696 Right this minute, in the USA, the radar is reporting 5-10 rather large hailstorms (1.25 inch hail) as we speak. Sun isn't even up yet. Not to get off topic. These are related, hail and tornados. that is. Anyone have any large at your locale? Yes m8, we have had some strange stuff lately, there was a hailstorm which lasted 5 mins and left 3-4 inches on the ground, it looked like we had snow! And another one where the hail was about 3/4 of an inch in size. I am down south, and it is VERY windy right now. GLP alert level 2; "Go get a hard hat:. GLP alert level 1; "Put the fucking hat on:. |

Yeah, i saw some recent youtube vids of recent hail in Britain while searching for info on all the hail. Seems to be a taboo subject even for GLP...Didn't know there was such a thing as a taboo subject for GLP. Hahaha I did find reports of 3 POUND hailstones in some parts of the world happening recently. Yes THREE POUNDS (you'll have to convert that to metric I suppose haha) Everyone seems totally mum on the subject. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 14751516 04/26/2012 09:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The hailstorms come from convection. As the spring sun begins to warm the land up once more this warning (measured in Kj or CAPE) builds the clouds into showers, and given the instability of this energy keeps the hailstones aloft until they succumb to gravity. Colder air in the atmosphere also plays a part in the processes. |
