I believe this is true. I've watched these old american game and tv shows and blacks folks behaved in a much more civilized manner back then. They talked, dressed and took pride in being educated. But look at them now, especially the youth. So yeah, the music industry is what ruined the black generation.

No, black people and whites BUYING it is what ruined a generation of kids.

rap music didnt destory a generation, bad parenting did (and govt welfare)

is art imitate life or life imitate art? well probably a little of both

as a white male who started listen to some hardcore rap in my early teens, i can attest it never influenced me to violence.

This is creative writing and it keeps us from seeing the simple truth: Rap is designed to keep kids BUYING CRAP and caring about what designer label they wear. Take FUBU for instance, For Us By Us.
No, it isn't.
It's for you to loose your money and your dreams and replace it with lust for the latest product. Guess who benefits from that?

i'm just wondering....

was any of God's chosen people at that meeting?

i mean after all God's chosen people own and control the media and the music biz is just a small part of it.

Re: The Secret Meeting That Changed Rap Music And Destroyed A Generation…
C'mon people, THINK!!

Why would the architects of the privatized prison scheme so willingly offer up shares, stocks and profits to a large group of supposed music insiders? not to mention the threat of losing their job if they don't play along and sign the secret document. Yep. White Collar Criminals with bad intentions always want to share in the loot, huh? Especially with a load of folks that work around the most gossip fueled industry known in history. Especially when BILLIONS of dollars are involved. Ridiculous.

My favorite part is how the strange guys who collected the mysterious one page documents and kept to themselves also threatened those who "intervened" when things got "chaotic" with guns.

Oh yeah. That's how high crime works. Please. This is amateur hour at its worst.

Even IF this had a shred of truth, the ONLY people that would need to be controlled would be the artist, the producer and MAYBE the publicist. The rest of the marching orders would descend down from on high (from the same place any of those profits would of stayed). Record companies work no different than any other corporation. You have a boss, you take orders, you do what you are told. You don't have to sign a document to get fired for not doing your job.

Next you will be telling me that the same meeting took place right before the hair metal boom of the eighties. It seems someone might of been privatizing beauty salons, as well.

Re: The Secret Meeting That Changed Rap Music And Destroyed A Generation…
It reads like fiction written by an amateur.

It's a well meaning hoax like "Willie Lynch Letter"
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4243405

Agreed!!

While I will not doubt that activities like this do go on, there is is little evidence to support the credibility of this claim. It reads like a bad conspiracy pitch.

1. This event took place in the Early 1990's. So apparently, Will Smith and Tone Loc, and MC Hammer were completely out of the picture and their careers crushed by this influx of gangsta rap which dominated the music industry and prevented artist of any other genre from getting radio play and attention. So I guess will will forget about the Seattle Music Scene, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Chili Peppers etc.

2. This is the only music that was going to be pushed. So we ended up with Hootie and the Blowfish, The Gin Blossoms, The Goo Goo Dolls, and way way too many Ex-Disney stars performing in Bugglegum Pop Boy Bands.

3. The Music Industry bought into Private Prisons...which mean that the Music Industry owns Corrections Corporation of America(CCA), GEO Group (formerly Wackenhut) and Community Education Centers. About 150,000 inmates of the 2.5 million inmates in the United States. Not a very good investment when you look at it carefully about 5 percent. In addition, if you look at the locations of the majority of their prisons, and inmate populations, you will see that they do not have a large number of Violent/Maximum Security prisons, so making violent criminals doesn't benefit them too much.

A close friend worked in Radio in the late 1980's and early 90's. He left one of the the last of the private owner operator stations in a memtroplitan area. He left because his music and program directors were being replaced by Marketing companies, and stations were being bought out by Media Companies that felt it easier to push their own artist through their others.

This is a good work of fantasy with some believable elements, but for the most part a creation of fiction.

This story really sounds legit but I also think it runs a lot deeper than just profiting from private prisons.

For those gangster rappers like Tupac, Biggie and anyone else who defied the TPTB, Michael Jackson too, it's not just their death that they profit from now, but also bringing them back one by one as HOLOGRAMS...verysad

Not surprising. Private prisons are another ponzi scheme used by giant hedge funds to scam money and real estate from innocent people through governments the world over and funnel it to top world leaders and banking house families.

The music industry targeted whites and blacks. In fact I would say that the main target was white children.

 Quoting: Cell Therapy

rap music is targeted at black kids make no mistake about that, you sir are deluded!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 831183

Considering that white americans make up a larger proportion of actual album sales, I'd say you're the one that's deluded.

An inner city, black youth isn't buying a cd from a store he has to travel by bus to reach when he can get the bootleg for $10 at the barber shop/corner store. And thats from personal knowledge, not assumption. Its targeted towards black youth but white youth make up more album sales.

What next..Black Metallers saying they weren't really all about Satanism as teens back in the 90s, they just loved the attention and were doing it out of pride.

..oh wait..

Seems no line of music industry is immune from this infiltrating force of commerciality.
