Interesting article nin....but I'm sceptical that that piece is a 20,000 yr old "foot" of a space craft landing gear.

They seem to have dated it by the oxidation of the aluminum....wouldn't the rate of oxidation depend highly on the environment that the piece was in? And how can they know that, especially for that length of time?
Also it would just seem to me that the shape dosn't make sense from a practicle engineering standpoint.
