A lot of people got excited about Obama becoming President, they'd literally pinned their hopes on it... Now how do they feel? How many times do you get excited by this whole process only to get disappointed all over again. Ron Paul won't change a thing - even though he actually has some humanity about him. We've been duped into thinking the President is the CEO when really he's the public relations guy. For change to happen we need to focus on the real centers of power.

Re: Ron Paul Picks Up Missouri Delegates After Caucus Chairman Arrested For Strong Arm Tactics
Is the OP from Missouri? We only have 52 delegates to the national convention. The 152 delegates are not for the national convention.

There are 2123 delegates to the state convention. Those 2123 will choose 25 of the 52 delegates to the national convention. He "won" 152 more delegates to the state convention, out of 2152, to pick the remaining 25 delegates to the national convention.

12 of the state delegates are going to Romney, 4 to Paul, and 8 are free to support either now that santorum and Gingrich are gone.

Winning St Charles county is big but it's far from 152 delegates that matter. It's far from winning the majority of the delegates in Missouri.

Obama and gang are probably scared out of their skin at the possibility of Ron Paul getting elected a POTUS,

If Ron found any high level coruption and crimes on the Obama aministration, I think he would probably not sweep it under the rug, but put it out in the full light of day for all to see.

Good question .... it's also interesting that they are both "suspending" their campaigns rather than ending them. Will this interfere with Paul or Romney then picking up their abandoned delegates ??

In Missouri the 8 delegates that santorum and gingrich got will support Gingrich and santorum unless they (the respective campaigns) release them to someone else.

I don't have an article but here is the gist of it. The thread title is completely misleading.

Eugene Dokes was the chairman of the first caucus. There were a lot of problems and the caucus was cancelled. Two people were arrested, one charged with trespassing but it was eventually dropped. Dokes did try to railroad the caucus and basically admitted to tying to strog arm Paul out of the caucus on a st Louis radio show (Allman in the morning).

During the new caucus, the man that was charged with trespassing was eventually selected as the chairman for that caucus. He did not strong arm the caucus and was not arrested for doing so, but earlier he was arrested for trespassing.

The chairman that did screw stuff up was not arrested for anything up until now.

So, by the GLP and Ron Paul website count, he has somewhere around 5,000 confirmed delegates.

As a MN delegate from CD2 I might be able to answer this. It is my understanding that any "bound" delegates must vote for their respective candidate on the first vote at the National Convention in Tampa. If after the first vote no candidate has the required 1,144 votes to secure the nomination those delegates become unbound and are free to vote for another candidate thereafter.

I'm pretty sure you and all the other Detractorbots understand that at first, he really only needs enough delegates to keep Romney from getting the required amount to be nominated.

After that, it's a brokered convention, and I'm also pretty sure you and all the other Detractorbots know exactly what happens then. If not, you really need to do some research.

Still not believing anyone thinks the RNC would let Ron Paul be their mouthpiece.

Want a use for Ron Paul? Get him to become the father of a movement (other than his presidential bowel movement) and give someone else the torch.

RP will not be allowed by the elites to go to the convention.
Romney needs those delegates and the RP supporters in a bad way - You do the math !

This is 2012 and Ron Paul is part of the transition into the new age. So yep, RP will be elected. No other way around this.

Thanks so much for responding. Do they have to vote for their bound candidate even if they've dropped out ??? IE Perry or Bachman, or is this only due to the fact that Gingrich and Santorum have merely suspended their campaigns rather than dropping out completely ???

Whether you know or not thanks in advance hf

First the 152 delegates here are to the state convention. They aren't the 152 delegates Romney or Paul need for the nomination. They are 152 out of over 2000 left to select less than half for national delegates of Missouri.

Second at a brokered convention do you really think the republican establishment that has mostly shunned Paul during this process will somehow magically decide to elect him as the candidate? Really? Do you think any of the candidates could start and staff a nationwide campaign against Obama in 2-3 months? Will all the delegates who support Romney, santorum, and Gingrich suddenly have a turn of heart and vote for Paul?

Reps gotta understand that unless they vote for RP, Obama will surely win. They have no choice really.

If RP wins and he turns to be an elite agent, then you know your only choice remaining is civil war, at least it will be very clear at that stage. But what if RP really is what he says he is?
