Ron Paul will crash the global economy and kill us all...

Give me liberty or give me death. But really, a crashing economy doesn't seem like the thing most likely to kill us all does it?

Re: We are past my biggest concern with Ron Paul
...

I agree Ron Paul is still the candidate to support and we should fight for him all the way to November.

What I am saying is his supporters are less and less Paul supporters and more and more supporters of limited federal government, states rights under the 10th amendment, sound money, govenment issuance of our national currency, and other constitutional ideas and less about Paul. I see them looking for other people to support for congress and even locally. The ideas are taking hold and we are past where it depends on the man and him alone to carry the banner.
 Quoting: ADEND

Well he will pull out of the nomination contest way before then. Unfortunately about Half of Ron Pauls "supporters" will throw their support to Obama in November. Half of those will do it by writing Paul in following the death wish suicide jihad of the cult of Paul or not voting at all due to poopy diaper syndrome, the other half will vote for Obama whom they would have voted for anyway.

I seriously doubt Ron Paul has the ability to motivate many of his followers into voting for the actual Republican nominee. Some will, but I think a majority will be lemmings and ultimately end up supporting the incumbant Obama. You will more likely than not see several of the justifications for flinging oneself into the Obama volcano follow in replies.

I am confident we in the GOP will prevail, but I also believe it's going to be a close election.
 Quoting: SHR

If as many as your think vote for Obama from the Paul camp we have not come as far as I think.

I have heard many people say I will vote for Paul, or if he is not on the ticket, I will vote for Obama. When I continued the discussion with them they have all been independents or Democrats and not Republicans.
 Quoting: ADEND

You/we haven't.
If it could be tracked you would probably see I am pretty close...about 25% of Ron Paul's supporters will straight out vote for Obama...as I as said another 25% will jihad write in or not vote at all....and that is being optimistic that 50% will actually vote for the Republican candidate.

The Ron Paul "Campaign" as you say yourself is not about Ron Paul the candidate or the politician. It is about a concept and it is about a mythologically created idealic politician that does not exist in Ron Paul or in real life anywhere for that matter.

Ron Paul more or less has gathered the "Lost Souls" of the political process..the people who feel disolusioned and the myriad other emmotional causes for detachemnt not the least of which are frustration and anger with the status quo. The following and cult of personality has become something more of a spiritual experience and that is not very difficult to see. All cults function almost identically at this base level. They use acceptance into a group of like minded individuals where prior there was no acceptance. Now you have "friends", we are on the same side! We are a part of someting! You used to feel alone, but now you are not! and on and on...the key common denominator now being "We".

Once you are "in" you defend the over riding ideological theme that the cult is based on at all costs. This happens naturally because the acceptance of the group and maintaining the group is a powerful driving force. If it is allowed to collapse?...you return to being alone and carry once again all the negatives, detachment, frustration, anger etc etc. You also recruit new members to reinforce your feelings of righteousness for being a part of the cult in the first place, that reinforcement element also happens naturally via human nature and it is something that cults rely upon to expand.

It doesn't really matter what sort of cult it is, they all function at the broad strokes base level the same way, exploiting human nature to exist and to grow.

They almost always suffer the same ultimate fate though. The cult itself out paces whatever concept or person they are based around and will require a constant moving the bar ever upward and onward to keep ahead of the pace. Eventually that bar is impossible for any concept or person to attain...I am GOD, I Predict a collosal event, I will make you rich, or as in Ron Paul's case, I will be president. If you notice HE never says that, in fact he tells his followers that his entire campain is not about winning the nomination that it's "About the message".

As with all these impossible goals and impossible measures of a person that the cult imparts onto the core leader or concept they eventually are faced with the inevitable. They cannot meet the impossible bar and they collapse into the harsh reality that it all didn't come to be as the follower desired and or believed it would. That can be a tremendious blow psychologically. Couple with that all the additionally negative aspects that the collapse carries with it, I was wrong, I no longer have my group, I am alone again etc etc and it can be a crushing blow that not all are equipted to cope with. We have all seen the results when members of some cults have not had the ability to cope. Some break down and that is very sad IMO, some others will turn on the cult and become hateful of it, they "SOLD OUT!"..they betrayed me!, they were fake all along!, still others and hopefully the majority, will just feel the loss and move on being more wary of the next opportunisitc adventure.

I am not trying to say that ALL Ron Paul supporters are immersed to the point where they will suffer such a breakdown or have been swept up in the cult mechanics, but some surely are. We have seen people weeping and wailing uncontrollably when Ron Paul did not win a primary and win resoundingly. I truely hope that those cases are very few and very far between. Hopefully a little more understanding of just how people CAN easily be caught up in any cult or cult-like group think will decrease that number.
 Quoting: SHR

This from a person who identifies himself as a member of the GOP. The same GOP that has once again thrown full support behind a non-conservative candidate. The same GOP that thinks they have any chance of winning the election. You are wanting to believe that 50% of Paul's supporters will actually vote for Romney, who is the exact opposite of everything the Paul supporters believe in.

Wake up sheeple. Voting for a RINO just because he isn't the black guy from the democratic party isn't going to work. Even if Romney stood a chance in hell against Obama his presidency would just be a continuation of Obama's first term. Romney is another Goldman Sachs owned candidate.

YOU WILL NOT GET ANY OF RON PAUL'S SUPPORTERS TO VOTE FOR ROMNEY. If the GOP wants a chance to beat Obama they will nominate Paul. Because without Paul's supporters no matter who the GOP puts up there, that person loses to Obama.

There are some good responses to SHR in this thread and he choses to go give a kid that ran a red light in another thread a hard time insteaad of responding.

I'm thinking he must be tired. Heavy lifting is for when you are at your best.

I've had this happen before where my thread disappears from my list of active threads even though I did not remove it. I then have to go find it in order to post again. It just happened with this thread again and I wonder has anyone else experienced this?

Paul's support is growing, and there's still a few months to go. I think he will be the people's choice, and I think he can no doubt beat the obamanation.

BUT, there will be war between TPTB and those who are trying to change the status quo. I hope that Paul's support base is strong enough on a grass-roots level to at least win some rights back to the states. but.... again, not gonna be clean.

Re: We are past my biggest concern with Ron Paul
Though I have supported Ron Paul for many years, my biggest concern has always been he would be used like other people and groups in the past. The PTB would allow or even help him to gain influence and a following, and then either eliminate him and co-opt his followers into another group where they would be marginalized, or discredit him, however dishonestly, and then divert his followers to a group they could control.

I am proud to say all indications point to us being past this concern. Truely, an ideas revolution is at hand. He is not becoming an idol, though there is a small minority of his followers who would still be succeptable to such tactics. Instead, he is leading an ideaological movement. The ideas are taking hold, and more and more I talk with people ready to stand for principles rather than a Person or a Party.

I knew very few outside of the armed services that would say give me liberty or death eight years ago. I hear it more and more from our youth and my heart is warmed. I have never once heard someone say give me Ron Paul or Death. We are past the hardest part. The fight is no longer about Paul, it is about our founding principles.

LOL...he's won none...he might get a plurality of delegates in Minnesota, but I doubt even that and he hasn't won a single contest. He has to win 5...he isn't going to...his campaign is over. As you said yourself...it's not about his support at all...all really about his "The message".

I think it's great that he has not dropped out and that all you "supporters" are just batshit in your quest over the Paul fantasy. That's because I want the Paul brand to completely destroyed and religated to the shitpile of history with all the other failed politicians who did nothing but soak up time, money and space while in congress. The longer he stays in and the more state conventions that all you paulbots show up and scream like children at?....the more that he becomes a joke and the more likely that is to happen. So be a good little inductee into the cult of Paul and make me proud!

Re: We are past my biggest concern with Ron Paul

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14011374

And those would be the same supporters that Propelled Ron Paul to winning ZERO states, correct?

I got a news flash for you...you and 50% of RP's supporters will do exactly what Ron Paul tells you to do...and that will be to vote for the Republican Party candidate...so save the poopy diaper I'm taking my ball going to hold my breath infantile bullshit for someone who'll buy into it.
 Quoting: SHR

Come now. Ron Paul won my state. I stayed late for the results to see for myself. He won Iowa and Minnesota too, didn't you see?

He is on track to win enough states to be nominated in Tampa. Give the guy a break, the PTB hate this guy and he still hangs in there to fight on...
 Quoting: ADEND

 Quoting: SHR

I'm confused a bit by your response. I understand you don't support Paul. What you are saying here seems to indicate you don't support constitutional government or the ideas Paul expouses either. If that's the case, have you bought into the paradigm there needs to be a ruling "class" because common "folks" aren't capable of making good decisions for themselves or is it just cynacism at every thing because the world is indeed a broken and preverted place.

Honest question, just trying for insight here.

I know what your saying but while ron paul makes the moral and economic case better than anyone else these are not new or strange ideas, they are the current LAW OF THE LAND.

its just that the rule of law is not being followed. so, limited government, sound money, states rights etc. are in the constitution that they swear to uphold.

the point is that no matter what eventually things will go back to the constitution, the question is how many more people have to suffer and how long will it take?

Id say four years from now president paul will be announcing his forthcoming retirement from politics and throwing his full support for vice president napolitano for president 2016. when that happens you'll know you have your republic back.

I hope you mean The Judge and not Janet? Kinda ironic that they both have the same last names and yet are such polar opposites!

PAUL/NAPOLITANO (The Judge)......sounds REALLY GOOOOOOD!

Since I don't want you to won't pee yourself I'll respond, but really it's becoming boring and redundant as all these exercises in futility with Paulculters do.

Ron Paul doesn't Espouse anything except "Ron Paul". Oh I'm sorry, he is the only professional poltician on earth that Isn't full of shit and himself, right?. Shove that "ruling class" bullshit deflection crapola, that's been played by all you Paulbots to death...Oh you don't like RP?...well then you must want a gigantic govt that rules everything right?....freedom hater???...lol...it's a retarded strawman that most all of you resort to at some point, some sooner than others, whenever anyone isn't in lock step with the cult of Paul group think.

Sorry, but Ron Paul is a piss poor presidential candidate, a failure in congress and has only used his position to assemble a crew of sychopantic "followers" to advance his own persona and identity mythology. It's the ONLY thing during his entire incredibly long public tenure at our expense that he's actually ever been succesful at. His policy platforms are a joke and consist of the thrown together sound bites that he is famous for and little else because that is all he ever has. Just say constitution, liberty and freedom over and over again and who is going to rail against you?...no one...unless they are thinking of electing an actual decision maker with exectutive experience who has shown a level of compectency in actually getting anything done in real life.

I have also heard the same exact thing form EVERY OTHER politican that has ever walked the face of the earth in this country ever...oh you don't think they have?...go look, but I doubt you will.

Here it is in a nutshell...Ron Paul has frumped in the corner in congress for decades voting No on everything. He is a complete joke in all of politics and to anyone who actually has any sort of knowledge of politics. So much so that nobody in congress will work with his goofass and he is called "Dr No". Nothing but self serving symbolic geastures that accomplish zero in the real world. All he had to do was say everything is unconstitutional and literally do nothing, all the while bringing home the fed dollars for his old fart society pals back home so he would get re-elected. He has never had a single bill of worth passed because he has never authored a well thought out bill in his entire career, neither to replace or repeal a piece of legislation that encroaches on the public or a single peice of legislation that has ever done any good, ever.

Sorry, but to be the President of the United States and commander and cheif of the earths most powerful thermo-nuclear armegeddeon machine it usually requires having some exectutive experience of which Ron Paul has zero. Also not being stuck on stupid by any ideology and unable to make a decision that veers from some self impossed rigid adherance to it beyond the point of absurdity, which Ron Paul the near anarchist Libertarian is most famous for. Weee let's legalize every drug there is and have 14 year old prostitutes in every state if a state wants it! Does it say we can have law against that in the constition?...why no it doesn't...so we can't! Fuckin ludicrous and That is the box in which Ron Paul former Libertarian presidential candidate lives....as well you all know, but cannot accept on a functional level.

It is YOU followers that temper his batshit pablum by creating the toned down versions for your own consumption, not him. We don't like these wars, Ron Paul is anti-war!...No one likes war, DUH ..but do you really think Ron Paul's concept of denying threats exist, playing kissy puss with psychotardical regimes and removing all our forces world wide and crippling our ability to project force when we have to will really stop a war or an event of attack from happening?...it's far more likely to invite one, since it IS an invitation. And what happens when that isn't a nation state behind an attack?...will congress declare "War"...on whom?...so President Paul is stuck with his thumb up his ass and since he has never ever demonstrated the ability to make an actual exectutive decision and the committee meeting isn't there to carry his do nothing ass what happens then?...do you really all believe he could handle it...I Don't and his history also demonstrates he won't. Those are just a couple of examples, but ALL his policy and record of policy reads like the same huge scroll of fail if it were actually applied to real life situations, which most, if not all of it never has.

He has used peoples disillusionment with govt to gather a cult of followers and all he had to do was NOTHING. Nothing except promote Himself by using constitutional pladitudes all while being paid to do it, by us.

All these conversations ALWAYS turn into some circular bullshit because that is the only place they can go...

Ron Paul is winning weee!
Derp, no he isn't.
Well it's not about "winning" it's the message!
Ron Paul has the awesomest record! Just ask him!
Umm, no he doesn't, his record actually sucks.
Well he did nothing because doing anything is unconstitutional!
Ron Paul is for everything good! He's like Ghandi!
Really?...most of his goofy policy atatements are on the order of the flat earth theory.
You must hate Liberty.
You must hate Freedom.
You want collosal govt!
You hate the constitution..etc etc etc FAIL.

It's always the same bullshit and complete lack of substance because there is zero real world substance in Ron Paul. Just saying there is and squeeking up bumper sticker sound bytes doesn't cut it, you actually have to do something and he never has. I don't expect the many Paul followers here to be able accept anything that is even the slightest bit negative or critical regarding RP because they have created a political messiah archetype that doesn't exist in the man, or anywhere else for that matter.

All that is left is to say is, see you in November...when the real life nominee is running against Obama and his crew of neo-communist Marxist Progressive vermin and hope you actually vote against what you all claim to despise...and do it for real, not some symbolic gesture of fail that serves no one but yourselves and accomplishes nothing.
