Sergei Mosin (OP) User ID: 1525854 United States 04/27/2012 05:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Gold is still undervalued, even with the bubble. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15146136 The real price (if currency goes to shit) is 10 times what it is now. I disagree. Gold creates nothing, does not pay dividends, pays no interest and costs money to insure. If the shtf your gold will make you a target for criminals and criminal government. After food disappears from store shelves you will need a truck load of gold to buy a weeks worth of food. If society does not collapse, the gold bubble will burst. Rapid devaluation of precious metals will cause market uphevil and investment opportunities. I am going to sell my gold mining stocks and am curious what different people see as be a good sector in the post gold economy. "Whatever the price of the Chinese Revolution, it has obviously succeeded not only in producing more efficient and dedicated administration, but also in fostering high morale and community of purpose. The social experiment in China under Chairman Mao's leadership is one of the most important and successful in human history." David Rockefeller “People think they have taken quite an extraordinarily bold step forward when they have rid themselves of belief in hereditary monarchy and swear by the democratic republic. In reality, however, the state is nothing but a machine for the oppression of one class by another, and indeed in the democratic republic no less than in the monarchy.” Friedrich Engels |

Gold just sits there like a rock but a promise can disappear in a flash, the choice is yours. [link to fofoa.blogspot.com] Yes, sell your mining share promises of future wealth and get something without counter-party promise-breaking risk. [link to fofoa.blogspot.com] If society does collapse then the best items are seeds, land and bullets. If society does not collapse the ultimate and best item for saving without risk of promise default will be unambiguous physical gold. This is the perspective of central banks today, high net-wealth individuals shortly and the general population eventually. Once the debt/credit/currency crisis has resolved we will be able to spend some of our unambiguous gold savings on the promise of productive investments again. |

Hypothetically speaking, if you cashed out your gold fortune what would you use as a safe haven for your profits? Quoting: Sergei Mosin 1 gold is not in a bubble. Gold been around for thousands years its not going anywhere. 2 Name 1 paper currency that has been around for more then 50 years not backed by gold? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14778706 I think OP's title was 'I don't have any gold how I wish it could burst' on a serious note, if/when the fundamentals change, then so will my metals strategy..... the fundamentals haven't changed imo.....the bernanke et al are still doing fiat heli-drops.... |
