Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15147126 its due to fuki HELLO Nope. Just tensions between the local population and the US presence there. Nobody wants a foreign military base near their home. Okinawans have been protesting for a long time so it's about time this happens. |

They want it to be a big tourist and vacation destination. No doom.. sorry to dissapoint.... this has been talked about for years now Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1918798 yes, they don't like us there for a LOT of reasons (vacation not being foremost among them......), but it is a key strategic position in the region. If we see the Army pulling out of S. Korea then it's time to be concerned. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 15017907 United States 04/27/2012 12:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh my God, sooooo much Bs.! Quoting: Atom-Boy They need to move because the Okinawa People are more than tired to have this huge Army there who do Training on this small Island! There are normal People living there who try to go to School, to University and to work but with this permanent Noise it is really difficult! The biggest Demonstration in Post-War Japan was against the Military Bases there with afir. ca. 100.000 Participants, not against the People only their War-Games and the Situation become very bad, so the J-Government and the US needed to have a Meeting and they decided that Japan need to pay the Americans ca. 4 Billion USD for a new Base in Guam and than the US will move! Well maybe you should have thought about all that inevitable inconvenience before you bombed Pearl Harbor, dumbass. Atom boy didn't do that. You must be Jewish to think like that. PH was 70 years ago. |

Just taking this long to get them moved. My favorite thing about this move is the idiot Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) who thinks that Guam is gonna tip over if we put all the Marines there. How do these people get voted in?????? |
