Uranium and Depleted uranium are heavier than gold or lead. Even as particulate matter they do not stay suspended in the atmosphere long.

In order for it to travel longs distances, it has to be thrown up pretty high up into the stratosphere. None of the explosions at Tepco's problem child and none of the fires were strong enough to throw up Uranium and other heavier isotopes up high enough to get much distance.
