He wasn't pimping her out. He didn't lie. Pride is a destroyer. I will say this to you once. Do not trespass on the wife of a man that the Creator loves. They would have killed Abraham and had her anyways so he chose to fool them and by doing so the Egyptians brought an evil upon themselves. Chances are the Creator would have protected Abraham, but he would not have ended up so wealthy or on stable grounds in Egypt. Sarah was his sister of his father, but not of his mother, so he did not lie. He did not say "hey you Pharaoh, fuck her and pay me with livestock". He very intelligently outsmarted them at their own game. By giving up pride he won a kingdoms favor. Maybe it's good that more people don't understand this unique wisdom.

I find it more difficult to let Hagar go into the wild with his first born then to curse the Egyptians with the sin of adultery. That was sad and he didn't want to do it. I don't know if I would have been able to let my first born and his mother into the wild. Then again the Creator told Abraham his seed would be protected and flourish into many nations.
