yeah it's a central theme ever since the fall, the satanic commodification and pimping of women, can't see how it is pleasing to God ultimately, merely a playing out of satan's ability to influence the human race and the male failing of pride. God does explain in Genesis that he would set satan against the woman, so naturally that means that misogyny is satanic and therefore not pleasing to God, it's a trap for the unwary, the prideful.

Can't help but wonder if what we have lived through over long drawn out millenia is the fall of the 'man', whereas in Genesis is a brief story, the male fall has taken much longer and has played out in a worldly sense.

He wasn't pimping her out. He didn't lie. Pride is a destroyer. I will say this to you once. Do not trespass on the wife of a man that the Creator loves. They would have killed Abraham and had her anyways so he chose to fool them and by doing so the Egyptians brought an evil upon themselves. Chances are the Creator would have protected Abraham, but he would not have ended up so wealthy or on stable grounds in Egypt. Sarah was his sister of his father, but not of his mother, so he did not lie. He did not say "hey you Pharaoh, fuck her and pay me with livestock". He very intelligently outsmarted them at their own game. By giving up pride he won a kingdoms favor. Maybe it's good that more people don't understand this unique wisdom.

I find it more difficult to let Hagar go into the wild with his first born then to curse the Egyptians with the sin of adultery. That was sad and he didn't want to do it. I don't know if I would have been able to let my first born and his mother into the wild. Then again the Creator told Abraham his seed would be protected and flourish into many nations.

She was his step sister and it was very common back then , they did not have the problems that we have today with incest . And prostituted out ? She was not touched or whoever touched her would have been slain by the Lord since it would have been adultery which is a capital offense . So please , stop slandering the Word .

The entire jewish history is utterly bizarre and it can't be reconciled to modern day middle class values, a lot of it is symbolic, these tales aren't necessarily reducable to man good or woman baaaaad crap, there is a larger story playing out.

Despite all this Abraham still struggled to believe God's promises. Despite his experience in Egypt Abraham would once again leave the promised land of Canaan. He would once again lie about his relationship to his wife. And he would once again ask his wife to prostitute herself to foreigners.

The Bible tells us that Abraham married his sister:

Genesis 20:11-12: 11 And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake. 12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.


However we also see the Bible later on forbids such an action:

Deuteronomy 27:22: 22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen
