They will be. And just like street parties, The Olympics are doomed to be eventually cancelled forever. Too many terrorists are planning to kill Olympians and spectators. Now that the Internet exists, it has become easier than ever.

The only thing DOOMED and to be "CANCELED FOREVER" is Japan's irradiated human population.

Yes, sadly it is a scary world we now live in.
I understand the need to take these measures but it still makes me very nervous.

They have to do something because can you imagine what the people would do to the politicians if they didn't do this and then something happened??? The people would tear the politicians apart.
On the other hand what is going to happen if something goes wrong and people are hurt by some of these defensive measures?? Again people would tear the leaders apart.
