My two children love this band. The lead singer, Marcus just got married to an actress, I forget her name, she played one of the younger sisters in Pride and Prejudice.

I cannot stand the -F- word song. It's defended by saying,
in England and Europe, the -F- word is a slang word, means nothing. No way, it is vulgar, it's awful!

Marcus Mumford's parents are Protestant preachers. This
is where he gets his spiritual lyrics, less that song, in
their music.

"Lion Man" is a song about the young, self righteous academic activist liberal types that just scurry from one cause to another protesting this and that and the false bravery they show attacking "safe" political targets within the securing of their little activist mobs. How they blame everyone else, even the societal failures they see all around them are of their own making. Mumford and Sons are mocking them and their fake courage.

No I get your point, but I really want to know what great "meaning" there is in mumford and sons songs which their fans allude to but never explain. I'm not judging the quality of a song just by how "understandable" it is, but I do want to know why Mumford and sons is so special as opposed to just being a trendy hipster favorite (Which I think it is)

They are singing about GETTING PAID!!!
That's all any musician really cares about.
They might act like they write songs with some kind of meaning or purpose... but it's all for the dollar bills.

"Little Lion" most likely means that he acted as men as expected to act (like lions) instead of acting as he felt compelled - being compassionate, caring, empathic - usually these feelings are reserved for the fairer sex.

He is addressing the stereotypes that are inflicted on men which ultimately ruins plenty of relationships with women who are far more in touch with their emotions and expect men to be as well.
