I've heard two things, A) That it's stuff they spray on the products an anti-bacterial agent, or B) That it's because all the crap comes from China and it's factory smells. That's right, AC. It's that damn China stench, caustic chemicals that do you no good! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7736082 Thats right, you read it correctly. Been doing so for almost 4 years, I've seen nearly every type of person, behaviour, etc. Nothing surprises me. Now what can I enlighten you with? Yes, I want to know what products sell the most. Probaly the top ten.. I don't have access to all the sales figures but water is by far the biggest seller. Minus grocery, the pet area is always the heaviest freight wise. A normal night is usually a 1,800- 2,300 piece truck. 400-600 is usually pets. Grocery gets their own truck. This is just a guess but the top sellers I would think are... 1. Deer park water 2. 40 lb bags of Dog chow 3. 80-20 ground beef 4. Angel soft toilet paper So pretty much it's drink, eat, crap, get up next day do it all over again. |

Walmart's Data Warehouse is one of the best out there and pretty much everything they do, including product placement, ads, etc are done by the Data Warehouse: [link to en.wikipedia.org] Benefits of a data warehouse A data warehouse maintains a copy of information from the source transaction systems. This architectural complexity provides the opportunity to: Maintain data history, even if the source transaction systems do not. Integrate data from multiple source systems, enabling a central view across the enterprise. This benefit is always valuable, but particularly so when the organization has grown by merger. Improve data quality, by providing consistent codes and descriptions, flagging or even fixing bad data. Present the organization's information consistently. Provide a single common data model for all data of interest regardless of the data's source. Restructure the data so that it makes sense to the business users. Restructure the data so that it delivers excellent query performance, even for complex analytic queries, without impacting the operational systems. Add value to operational business applications, notably customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Now let me be clear: This is not new technology we've had it since the late 80's publically. LOL ! I know they have a computerized system for inventory. And they sure are exact too They contract new products and discontinue what doesnt sell . They got a good system going. Even more interesting is that the CIA uses the same system, as well as DHS. In fact most Data Warehouses are actually Data Marts for them to locate terrorists based on buying habits. Yeah, the eyes are everywhere, Everytime we swipe our debit/credit card, Everything is listed. Im sure it even goes beyond evidence for suspicious activity, but what else they are looking for beyond stock data is beyond me.. I'd tell you but I feel a heart attack coming on. lol |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1359219 United States 05/01/2012 03:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Walmart near me no longer has "greeters". They used to have to check in any return items. I'm guessing that they must have every inch of the place on camera now to keep people from "returning" an item they just got off the shelf. Even better buy an item, keep the receipt and the item, then go pick up another off the shelf and return it with a receipt. I always thought everywhere was on camera until someone at our local store got tools from hardware and disassembled the Ipad case took them all and walked out without being noticed. |

jww1136 User ID: 15331259 United States 09/05/2013 05:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hey, Im an overnight dairy/frozen/meat/ grocery/ hba and ppc stocker/ims. I have been with Walmart for 4 months now. I'm hard working and hungry for knowledge. I'm learning the ordering system now and I was wondering what could be done to ease my job. We are a neighborhood market. I am officially a dairy stocker but I do nearly everything the dept manger does. Every night I get 4-6 palates worth of new freight. After I throw that I throw frozen , so on and so forth. I feel 4-6 palates are too much seeing that frozen is roughly the same size but only gets 2-3 palates. What is going on with our system? Our current dept is an idiot. I walk into a nasty full cooler every night and the bins are always full so I can't bin my overstock, there are always huge gaps on the shelves. I'm the only one fighting to get 100% done at the end of my shift. |

Now what can I enlighten you with? I want to know since I read they had a new program to hire veterans - do they have ammo stockpiled in the back for the vets to defend the CORPORATION when SHTF? Reason I ask is: Two years ago some bank - maybe Bank of America came out with a plan to hire vets and make them managers of all their banks - at least in Florida. Hired n trained them to be BANKERS knowing their other skills. So I figured these big corporations are planning their defense - especially when the people figure out what the banksters have done to crash the economy and screw the dollar. So - they got a SHTF plan with ammo? |
