How Pitiful Our Society Truly Is Today
The Green Thing

Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the older woman that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.
The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days."
The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations."

Al Gore's mansion is so big...
We have always lived simply and I still do not like dishwashers or clothes dryers as much as the old peaceful hand-work. It gave us thinking time, ya know?
These youngsters were taught that they are better than us, and that is pitiful.

I'll admit that I am 25 and was raised in the city. However, I was raised around old folk and I am only the way I am today because of them. I get along just fine with all old people, and honestly avoid people in my age group because of their lifestyles.

In my lifetime, all I have met are druggies, drunks, party goers, clubbers, and truck loads of idiots lacking any common sense too differentiate their head from their crack. Luckily I have been given the opportunity to live this lifestyle in the country with my kinfolks.

I threw away a $17/hr job with Apple Incorporate to make $12 fixing tractors. Sink is for washing dishes, we have our own well to supply water, clothesline for drying, bathtub for washing selves in/clothing. Plenty of land, fresh local grown produce, our own garden (working on getting non-gmo seeds), antiques galore to fix and use. The list goes on...this is truly the laid back life I have always wanted to live.

If I could just find some honey to fix my allergies...there's an old barrel in the back yard full of honey bees...but I haven't the guts to go reach in there yet without a bee suit.

EDIT: Word has it that honey from your direct vicinity will clear allergies right up.

Kids these days have no respect for elders (not all, but damn there is a lot of them). Meanwhile all of them have i-phones, i-cars, i-pads, i-pods, i-me,myself,i. They are so selfish and think their chit doesn't stink. Teachers tell them they can do whatever they want and not get punished for it. It's sad really what Liberals have done to this country. The U.N., greenie weenies, and self interests are killing our society. Not to mention the lack of people skills due to the technology. It's sad really. I think technology will be the end of civilization.

When I listen to stories like this I think... "I was born in the wrong fucking time." I live like that. I reuse containers when I can, I walk or bike where I need to go, I think nothing of walking or biking 3 miles...

I listen to music from back then, I wear a fedora and prefer the styles back then. I kind of wonder if maybe my soul got delayed or I'm reincarnated from a 40's or 50's person.

I dunno, man... I just know that my generation fucking sucks, it's only getting suckier and all I can do is try to keep to the values I learned from my parents.

Btw, one of my favorite songs. Go ahead and call me gay, but if you met me offline you'd run because I look like what I am - an increasingly physically fit schizoaffective:

It is so sad that this "green" generation totally fails to grasp that they are very late to this game. Worse yet, they think they invented it!

And yet where are the glass coke bottles, milk containers and all the rest?

What's really sad is the arrogance when they have so little to be arrogant about.

What's truly sad is my great uncle actually gave me the full explanation of how this all happened. You see...everyone started out in some form of rural area. Around the early, middle 1900s,unfortunately when there were tough times and crops were only selling for 2 cents a pound, the kids would have to leave the country and move to the city to make some money for their parents. WWII and the great depression made a strong contribution to city life. We'll, the kids ended adjusting to that style of living. When the parents died the kids inherited the land, and instead of keeping it most of them sold it for more money.

Now you know where the heavily overpopulated cesspools of humanity form from. I don't know how it went from city living to parents wanting the schools to raise their kids, but without spanking them. Or allowing 6 & 7 year olds to have cell phones. Or kids walking around in the store while their kids run wild...or putting them on a leash like a dog.

The majority of society = idiots raising more kids to be bigger screw ups and idiots then themselves.

I wonder if the NWO had something to do with this too *ponder*

Same here, and you can reuse bottles. Even plastic ones... you don't NEED to recycle them. Sure, put them in the recycling bin when you have too many, but use what you can. When you can. It started in the 80's really... remember all those styrofoam containers?

Forgot to mention that we buy local raw milk, straight from the cow! Not this pasteurized hormone fed cattle commercial garbage.

Real milk has CREAM. You let it sit in the fridge and it separates and sits on top of the milk, which you can use for butter, yogurt, cheese, etc. The plus...real milk doesn't "spoil".

We bought some mason jars from the local market and made homemade sauerkraut, and it is amazing.

Xerces, hobby beekeeper here. The barrell of bees will provide honey but you will have a job filtering the brood, wax, etc.

Beekeeping is not difficult & you really only need to buy a veil if you already have thick coveralls, boots & gloves to wear. Also, there are not enough beekeepers to meet the demand for local honey in the organic stores (wholesale to them) or in the Farmer's Markets if you want to go the retail route. The local honey sells for a handsome price & makes a nice supplemental income. Beekeeping is not labor intensive except for about 2 weeks during honey harvest time.

Lots of info on the net and do a search for your state's beekeeping assn, they will have lots of info to help you decide if you want to get started.
