Since the actual date of the birth of Jesus is not known, I suggest that we change the date of Christmas to February 29. This will ensure that it will only happen on a leap year. This will also increase the chances of having the ´White Christmas´ that so many people seem to desire.

PQ yes. I am so tired of the b.s. and the pressure to spend. Not that I do but others in my family do that can´t afford to.
When I got married we requested, in lieu of gifts, donations to favorite charities. That works for me, saves hassle of shopping too.

Feb.29 is perfect.

Some believe that Jesus was born in March. I could see Jesus being a Pisces more than a Capricorn.

We don´t have much money but I really enjoy the holiday. I like to look at the lights and listen to the music. I have found that baking cookies and bread for gifts is less stressful and less expensive.

The reason for the season is the winter solstice and it comes every year, four. Be happy that the days will be gettin longer and stay out of the stores.

Christmas is an annual event that is to celebrate and honor the winter solstice and the coming new year.

You cannot change centuries old traditions such as Christmas (or the celebrated mass of the Christ) no matter how much you loathe or disdain it every year.

Unfortunately it has become too commercialized for my tastes - the gifts we wanted to give or share with others have been commercial products we are forced to buy for the sake of giving more than just ourselves.

It´s the thought and the giving that counts for something.

You won´t have to celebrate Christmas every year. THAT IS YOUR CHOICE. Don´t suggest that everyone should follow your idea about making Christmas come every four years. It doesn´t look good for the retail industries, manufacturers, inventors, and marketers because they´re in the business of making money and PROVIDING JOBS for everyone!

Christmas fucking sucks and I hate it.

Until I met my girlfriend I had almost succeeded in removing this idiotic annual ritual from my life after moving out of my parents house some years back. My parents moved away and now live on the other side of the continent and my brother lives a few hours away. Therefore, we do not gather at X-mas. We don´t exchange gifts either. And I couldn´t have been happier.

Friends of mine would often try and invite me to their family gatherings, but I would always lie and say I was going to visit my brother. Instead I´d sit at home and get shitfaced, smoke dope and reflect upon things. Just another day.

Now, of course everything is different. I have new obligations to "buy for" my girlfriend and relatives, stressful "family" gatherings to attend and so on. Fuck.

I really would like that x-mas will be every 4 years, I am a teenager who lives in mexico and I really hate x-mas, in my family this event is too boring to me. Maybe if x-mas will be every 4 years we can enjoy it more, and have more fun because it will going to be an special event, not to rutinary how it is every year.
