I wonder how contagious this is and how many people he sneezed at on the way home ? SF is a big public transport city as well.

Oh yes and of COURSE he worked in a govt lab , they always have the best microbes!

Re: Infectious disease researcher, 25, dies from rare bacteria in San Francisco
The bacterial strain causes septicemia and meningitis, officials said. Septicemia is an inflammation of the bloodstream that causes bleeding into the skin and organs and is believed to be the cause of the man's death. It can be spread by sneezing, coughing or kissing. Meningitis is a bacterial infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, that can result in brain damage and death without immediate treatment.

Joseph Moshe was his name. Very wierd incident.

Septicemia and meningitis bacteria. Sick two hours after leaving lab...dead next day. Quick-actin' stuff, assuming he'd not been infected several days prior--which the official story will say, doubtless.

Dead in less than 24 hours. Potent bug.
...
<"He left the lab around 5 p.m." Friday, said Lampiris said. "He had no symptoms at all." The man reportedly told his girlfriend two hours later that he felt sick with a headache, fever and chills. By Saturday morning his symptoms worsened with a rash and he asked to be taken to the hospital, but fell unconscious in the car and had no pulse on arrival. He died later that morning.>

Septicemia is simple blood poisoning, like if you have a puncture wound and red streaks develop from it.

To cause internal bleeding is an entirely different thing, typical of hemorrhagic viruses.

Sounds like bioweapons stuff to me.

This type of story is really annoying because it's kind of just tucked away on a byline and you don't really get much blow by blow information on it, unless... it turns out to be an actual rapid plague.
The article said the people he was in contact with - supposedly - got antibiotics but A)lots of antibiotics aren't effective anymore. and B) what if they missed lots of people ? URG .
I want to know what is going on in the CDC right now?

Maybe not. They clamped the lid on the news regarding that huge earthquake that rattled from DC to Maine last year. Total news black-out regarding it the very next day, tho' it did indeed crack the Washington Monument with a three inch crack.

Yes. He was somebody's son. And if this is the beginning of a contagion-like event, there will be lots of innocent people who will suffer and die - you or one your family members could be one of them. So STFU.

The shit that's going on this month is incredible.
Rumour has it that I was not born,
I just walked in one frosty morn',
Into the vision of some vacant mind.

Damn! You always treat me like a mountain, stranger.
Though I have never seen your shadows or fading lights,

Always believing there’s a canyon for every blind.

Someone at GLP said he was put away in a mental institution after that. We may never know....but he was definitely unaffected by the teargas and the cover story was a lie.

They said he was trying to get to some other embassy, but he was up the street from me at our Federal bldg, which is NO WHERE NEAR where they said he was fleeing. Especially not at that time of the day, with traffic. He was at the Federal bldg because he INTENDED to go there. Why, we don't know.

Real story is they wanted him gone for one reason or another.
