@27:15 jack is explaining to his wife about his obligation or contract, which he symbolizes with the 666 hand gesture. The deal with the devil in other words because that is whom all the foolish elites gain all their power and wealth from.

His contract oddly enough or end of his part of the bargain ends on may 1st or Beltane.

It's strange how these types of videos just make sense to me, I see it more and more in the symbols each day. It's too bad most "enlightenment" of this world has to peer into darkness. Thanks for sharing.

NO!

The movie followed the book pretty close and was an accurate representation of Kings novel.

^ This.

Stephen King's an interesting one to say the least. Most of his books hold more reality in them than a lot of the real world.

Also because I'm an asshole:

The reason I find the theory plausible is because the movie was so horribly, unwatchably bad that there HAS to be some ulterior motive for Kubrick to have made the film.

Though that's pretty much how I feel about all of Kubrick's films.

I can't say I thought much of the book either, but I find King's work to be that of an adolescent mind caught in an old man's body.

I must have missed the parts that were bad, being too mesmerised by the wonderful scenography, cinematography and sets, the consistently fluid camera moves, the perfect symmetry in the set pieces, the clever segues and artful transitions, creepy, magnificent score, absolutely perfect casting and career-best performance from shelly duval and jack nicholson.

top work, and I'm more than down with this theory. brave guy.

I think the "Stay away from 237" was the message from aliens.

The woman in the room that Jack is kissing and turns ugly, represents the relationship between the aliens, when we found out they're evil, not nice.

Ahh...so you have bad taste in movies!

I would then like to take the opportunity to recommend a classic that completely buries anything Kubrick ever did; it's called Hell Comes to Frogtown.

I think you'll be thoroughly impressed!

Ahhh...name calling...the mark of a genius.

Hell Comes to Frogtown is entertaining (albeit dubiously)...which is more than I can say for Kubrick's films.

Kubrick tried to be clever and artsy; as a result, his work ended up being contrived and superficial. He was a pseudo-intellectual...much like his most ardent fans.

2001 has NOTHING on Plan 9 From Outer Space; a truly intelligent viewer knows this to be true.

I've just finished up probably every interview that Weidner ever did, that's out on youtube anyway. I remember asking myself years ago why there was never any delay in the back and forth during the moon landings. Yet right here on earth all the major media show time and again how they stumble on each other's words all the time when talking across the world via satellite, etc...

This may be a stretch, but in the vid, you see that Halloran is murdered after he crosses the TV test pattern in the floor. Remember those, some had an Indian Chief in full head dress? When the scene cuts to the panty, below the Tang, is Calument baking soda, with the outline of the same Indian head. The imagery was delivered via TV.

Not exactly.

As someone else said, King HATED Kubric's adaptation for its extreme deviancy from the book.

I thought it was a movie about a writer who goes crazy baby sitting a hotel over the winter? Could be wrong, haven't watched it in a long time.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14318781

Obviously his clues must be well hidden as HIS LIFE WAS AT RISK.
Apparently they weren't hidden well enough in "Eyes Wide Shut" which did cost him his life. They way they butchered the original movie could indicate that there were many hidden clues beyond the few that were picked up in it.

Stanley Kubric was brilliant I realise this even more now that I've seen this outline.

A11 work and no play make Jack a dull boy.

I always thought Dannys Apollo 11 sweater was symbolic. Kubrick was a genius.

42 Letter Name of God

[link to www.tarot.org.il]

This is one of God's many names, mentioned in the Zohar and in the writings of Rabbi Moshe Cordoviro and Rabbi Abraham Abulafia next to the 72 fold name of God. In the Zohar, the 72 fold name of God and the 42 letters name of God are often discussed together, and described as a complementary.

ROOM 237

2+3+7=12

12 Tribes

12 Disciples

12 Months

12 signs

An interesting reference is in the Zohar on the last chapters of Exodos, where the breastpiece, the Hoshen, is discussed along with the Urim and Thummim. The breastpiece is said to be engraved with the 42 letters name of god and embossed with the names of the 12 tribes, with the 42 letters name of God causing light or darkness to appear in the letters spelling the tribe names.

This brings out an interesting astrological connection - the 42 letters name of God is usually divided into 7 names connected to the 7 planets, while the 72 fold name is usually divided into 12 groups of six names, with the 12 groups connected to the 12 tribes and 12 zodiacal sign.

As to the origin of the 42 letters name of God, the sources are divided. Some say it's the acronym of a prayer called 'Ana beCoah' (so called after the first two words of the prayer), attributed to Rabbi Nehunya Ben Hakana. Others say the name is the result of permutations on the first 42 letters of Genesis, and that the prayer was written so that it's acronym would be the 42 letters name of God, a common enough practice in Judaism. Having seen the various permutations used, I'm a supporter of the the first version.
