This question from Angela.
Am I right in thinking that animals have no karma and sacrifice themselves to each other in the natural cycle of life? As mankind sacrifices animals in the name of science and greed are they creating endless karma for themselves?
Dear Angela,
Thank you for your question. You are right in thinking that animals have no karma, because they breathe out pure air and therefore cannot pollute anything, but the subject is much deeper than this superficial observation.
There are two important factors, which relate to this subject. Firstly, it is animals and not humans who manage the eco-system of this planet. People would consider themselves superior to an earthworm, yet worms create the channels in the soil by which it is irrigated. Without these channels, all land would simply turn to hard, solid mud, and nothing would grow, and we would starve. Likewise people would consider themselves superior to a dung-beetle (the scarab beetle of Egyptian mysticism), but without this creature, most of Africa would become a swamp of waste matter within a few months. Animals linked together in the most delicate of eco-structures manage all the conditions, which make life possible on this planet.
From an ecological viewpoint, the existence of most human beings here has been a disaster. They have failed to realise the fundamental truths that to live on this planet at all is a privilege, to have the gift of life itself is a privilege, and to co-exist with animals is a privilege. Instead, they rape the world for energy with which to construct irrelevant things, slaughter animals in the most disgusting and barbaric fashion, and then consider themselves to be somehow superior. The people in the Universe who observe the behaviour of people on this world use the way animals are regarded and treated, and the way the Earth itself is regarded and treated as a yardstick for the success or failure of human existence here, and to date, it has been a complete and utter failure. Human beings here have not only failed to contribute to the eco-system and structure of the planet, but they have ravaged and harmed the planet itself, and the animals who husband it, so the karmic implications for many people here are bleak in the extreme, to the point even of being dire.
Of course, as always, there are deep and sensitive individuals who do care deeply and who do work against the tide of human ignorance and who do fantastic and beautiful things for animals and for the Earth, but the Universe is tired now of these good souls carrying the can, so to speak, for the ignorant masses, for whom the Universe would say now, ´can we wait for you any longer?´, ´dare we wait for you any longer?´ and ´for how long will your behaviour be shielded by the good actions of a few individuals who work tirelessly trying to change the mass of human consciousness?´
The second factor, which is rather chilling, is that when an animal dies, people in the Universe examine its DNA blueprint in order to read how it died. If it was slaughtered, ill treated or abused in any way then the individuals who destroyed it are listed and noted and karma is apportioned accordingly. So, in a sense, animals are placed here as tests to see whether people have yet learnt how to be kind and aware. Of course the soul of the animal lives on, and reincarnates, but some of the evidence, which the Universe has amassed against certain individuals who have lived here, is truly terrifying.
The case against many people, based on DNA evidence of their treatment of animals, is so damning that it has become the concern of very important people in the Universe, who are frankly outraged that creatures who were put here in order to preserve the eco-system of the Earth and to breathe out pure air to buy people some time while they learnt how to breathe out pure air themselves should be treated with such irreverence and contempt. People here who were cruel to animals forgot that such animals are under the control and protection of very highly evolved beings elsewhere. They damaged what was not theirs to damage, and indeed should not have made the decisions to damage anything at all. To be blunt, it does not look good for such people.
To those who hunt and kill for fun, to the greed-ridden poultry farmers, to the vivisectionists (although to be really truthful, there is in actuality very little hope for vivisectionists), to the Japanese fishermen who cut off the fins of sharks and throw the bodies back into the sea to die in agony. To the people who set traps and who lay snares, to those who confine animals and drive them insane and to all those who mistreat animals in any way, the message is crystal-clear. Change your ways now or die, and death will not come easily. Just for once I hope that a warning will over-ride the arrogance of such people. It is a very real warning. Neither will it end in death. Evil, cruel people will have to pay back in kind the misery they have caused, atom for atom. If their karma exceeds their spirit then the Universe will take the rest from their ancestors and descendants. The Universe never writes off a debt.
Best wishes
Alex Gordon
