On 5May the planets have these heliocentric ecliptic coordinates (hEcl-Lon hEcl-Lat):
Mercury: 318.3837____-7.0043
Jupiter: 52.2826____-0.9725
So you can see that they are out of alignment in longitude by: (360+52.2826) - 318.3837 = 412.2826 - 318.3837
= 93.8989°.
That's pretty much a right angle.


On 25May they have these hEcl coords:
Mercury: 54.2003___0.7217
Jupiter: 54.0801___-0.9448
So they are out of alignment in longitude by:
54.2003 - 54.0801 = 0.1202°
That's pretty much straight in line and they have only ~1.7° latitude offset as opposed to ~6° offset on the 5th.

I think she probably meant Venus instead of Mercury.

And the New Moon will be on the 20th, should be lots of pull on the tides at least, and also on the crust at that time, too.

Now run it for May 25 with the same settings.
It's rather crude but it shows the May 25 alignment and shows the May 5 misalignment of Mercury by 90 degrees.
The calculation I showed you is much more satisfactory.

My dear R. let me put it to you this way. I know I drive people like you nuts.

It's been happening since I was a kid. I used to go to the horse races with my dad. We would be surrounded by all these men who studied the odds, and knew the jockeys and had precise, INTELLIGENT, information on why a horse should win.

So, here I am this little scrawny girl. I would simply look at the horses, and I would get a feeling. I can't explain it, but I just knew that would be the horse my dad should bet on. These men would all laugh, because after all, how stupid could my dad be to bet on the horse I suggested. Well, that was until my horse won and then the next one won, and pretty soon they too were betting on my horses.

I know that you are a much smarter person then me, when it comes to the exact science of astronomy. I know that, and you know that.

However, I got up and I simply opened the program, and observed the planets and I gave my impression of what I saw.

I stand by it, as unscientific as it may seem.

Just now listening to the scanner for our local LE. Things are going nuts..it's the super moon and these crazy planets are causing strange behavior in people.
