Police are appealing for public help to locate a couple who have not been seen since visiting relatives in the Bay of Plenty over a week ago.
Te Arawa Karaitiana, 20, and his female partner, 27-year-old Carli Pugh, were last seen when they left Pugh's grandfather's Whakatane home on Sunday November 4.
Detective Sergeant Mata John of the Ngaruawahia CIB said the couple left in a mauve coloured Toyota RAV4 vehicle, registration number ANG948.
"We believe they were headed back to their New Windsor, Auckland home but they never arrived," she said.
"Neither Te Arawa or Carli have been seen by either of their families since then and both they and police hold concerns for the couple's safety."
Pugh is described as a female Maori about 162cm tall and of solid build. Karaitiana is described as a male Maori 182cm tall of medium to thin build.
John has asked anyone who is aware of the couple's whereabouts or has seen their vehicle to contact Ngaruawahia police 07 8248199.
Alternatively information can be left with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
If the couple see or hear media coverage of their disappearance they should make contact with police or family, John said.
