There is no area in CO that is at an altitude of less than 3000 feet. At 6800 feet, CO has the highest mean elevation of any state in the country. Only five million people in the entire state too (the eighth largest), so come on in!

pretty cool map. Looks like I'll be close to the beach by about 100 miles if it rises 180 ft and reaches Memphis.

Good up to 40m here, would this also count as safe for a tsunami or do they act differently?

Re: Interactive NASA Flood Maps.
As interesting as this could be, there's no way that this is at all accurate.

I stuck in 13 meters - that's almost 40 feet..! of a rise in SEA LEVEL. That Japan EQ wouldn't have been nearly that high and look at what happened to that place. The map looks like there's barely a dent into Japan. At 40 feet that whole place would be in Davey Jones' Locker.

It's just a strict representation of what global sea level rise looks like at various increments. It's not going to show you the reach of a storm surge or a tsunami, because those are localized, temporary events.

I should have added that this is NOT the sort of map that would be very useful in predicting vulnerable areas for various-sized tsunamis.

Re: Interactive NASA Flood Maps.
This map is for 'sea level' rise, not a tsunami, so my question is this. On average how far inland can a tsunami travel for every metre in height? I know it would vary greatly according to the properties of the land (buildings, vegetation, soil etc), but just a rough idea. Anyone have any idea?

That's all the water there is.

If all land ice were to melt sealevels would rise by about 60 metres.
