Last night was a very wierd thunderstorm in Austin - cloud to cloud lightening. It was very beautufil to watch. Totally strange, however, was the fact that there was a 5 second pause between lightening straight above your head and the crack of thunder, suggesting very high altitude static discharges. Couples with vibrating ground.... HARRP? |

I tried to put the link to the search results page I got.. but it wouldn't link properly.. that is why I edited my post to suggest people Google "sinkhole" it's amazing how many there are. Vibrations are not the same as quakes. Machinery makes regular consistent vibrations....quakes do not. Nowhere in the report or OP's post did it say how long the rumblings and vibrations lasted, so I was under the impression that they didn't last very long.. which to me, means, something is moving under or very near those houses. Just as a point of interest... Is there a way people who experience this kind of rumbling and, or, vibrations, can check for potential sinkholes forming? Or is this one of those things, you will only know about, when it happens to open up? |

My parents live in Robinson, south of Waco and they've heard them testing as well. Incredibly powerful and loud for the sound to travel that far. |
