I get that, but we are married so I can't just save myself. I'm trying to save both of us (when and IF). I could just keep stocking up a little here and there, but shouldn't he be involved in our mutual well-being? There may be no need, but if the possibility is there shouldn't he take measure to keep us safe? I could just leave and take care of myself but that doesn't abide by the "better or worse" vow.
Everything else in our relationship is fine, no arguments ever - discuss everything...but this. And this seems pretty darned important to me. If it's important to me, shouldn't that be enough? Again - not asking for anything major, just some awareness would be a good start.

A functional conservative conserves the basic family unit, and makes sacrifices to their survival. One has to choose, whether to live in the land of lies or be judged by his actions. In any event, the op is more likely to want to win at something, and who better than some internet stranger. I assumed I would get a response to the contrary as a face saving gambit, so, that's where I'll leave it.
