never knew that. i always thought stars flickered cuz it was a flaming ball haha. but the flicker wasn't the problem it was the super brightness that caught my attention first then 5 seconds later it burns out like a lightbulb. i could still see it but it was a little speck in the sky
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6449525 Could be a fireball - A meteor. Maybe it had a trajectory that was well, pretty much on a direct path to your face :P You were lucky maybe :P Quoting: Anonymous Coward 281126 i'm not the smartest guy out there but if was headed on a "direct path to my face" wouldn't it be getting brighter and larger? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6449525 Nah, doesn't have to be actually. Depends on the meteor and the size it is and the substance it's made of. Could be as bright as a sun if it was really big or just flare up a bit more than the average star. Still think it was Venus though. Might be some cloud up there you didn't see. Either that or a Satelite. Maybe geostationary that just passed out of the sun's rays while you were looking at it and therefore stopped 'shining'. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 281126 Most likely what AC said
