never knew that. i always thought stars flickered cuz it was a flaming ball haha. but the flicker wasn't the problem it was the super brightness that caught my attention first then 5 seconds later it burns out like a lightbulb. i could still see it but it was a little speck in the sky

Nah, doesn't have to be actually. Depends on the meteor and the size it is and the substance it's made of. Could be as bright as a sun if it was really big or just flare up a bit more than the average star. Still think it was Venus though. Might be some cloud up there you didn't see. Either that or a Satelite. Maybe geostationary that just passed out of the sun's rays while you were looking at it and therefore stopped 'shining'. Most likely what AC said
