Re: Fleet of UFOs on the Moon?
And nothing for nothing, there are TONS of V-formation UFOs around. This isn't the first time this has been seen so, keeping an open mind would be advantageous to our spiritual growth.

Remember, all UFOs were swamp gas or figments of our imagination just 50 years ago.

Hey, these might be birds/bats but that doesn't eradicate the millions of V-shaped UFO reports seen all around the world. Just keep things in proper prospective.
That's all.

Re: Fleet of UFOs on the Moon?
He's zoomed in by a FACTOR OF THOUSANDS TO GET AN IMAGE THAT CLOSE OF THE MOON!!

THOUSANDS!!!

YOU NEED A MASSIVELY POWERFUL TELESCOPE TO GET THAT KIND OF IMAGE.....
 Quoting: Walking Eagle

Complete and utter rubbish!

He states what kind of telescope it is, in the YT comments.
It is a Celestron Nexstar 8se.
"MASSIVELY POWERFUL"? Yeah - right!
I own an optically identical 'scope - A Celestron C8 SCT
Same maker (Celestron) - same aperture (8") - same optical design (Schmidt-Cassegrain) - same focal ratio (f/10)
Only significant difference between his 8se and my C8, is the mount.
I'd say an 'average' scope for an enthusiast.
Heck! - My C8 is only my 4th largest scope.

Magnified by "a FACTOR OF THOUSANDS"?
Errr-mm - Nope!
300x would be closer.
I know that area of the Moon - the width of his field of view is somewhere in the region of 8 to 10 arcminutes.
I get a similar field of view using my 7mm orthoscopic eyepiece in my C8 - and that comes out at 285x

Please learn something about optics, magnification, and astronomy before posting such claptrap.

IMPOSSIBLE THAT THEY ARE BIRDS!!!

He's zoomed in by a FACTOR OF THOUSANDS TO GET AN IMAGE THAT CLOSE OF THE MOON!!

THOUSANDS!!!

YOU NEED A MASSIVELY POWERFUL TELESCOPE TO GET THAT KIND OF IMAGE, AND YOU THINK BIRDS WILL SHOW UP PERFECTLY?

MAYBE IF THEY ARE FLYING ON THE SURFACE OF THE MOON!
 Quoting: Walking Eagle

A factor of fifty would be about what we're looking at. If the birds were miles away, they'd be within the depth of field, at least enough to appear reasonably sharp. Point of focus might have been on the moon, but the circles of confusion wouldn't have grown large enough between the moon and the birds/bats at that distance, to have blurred them very much.

Depth of field expands as the distance of focal point increases. Most telescopes would be effectively at the infinite focal point when focused on the moon. Aperture size plays a big part in it too.

Sorry, brainfart. I meant to say circles of diffusion.

Seriously... I've seen a number of UFOs over the years. Things that when considered, couldn't have been anything mundane. Even one time in broad daylight. My mind has been opened already.

So no - it doesn't do shit to discount UFOs, it's just that this time it is actually mundane. But it's nice footage anyway.

Again, I respect what you say and how you feel. Personally?...without close-up proof or DNA sampling....I wouldn't be too sure about too many things anymore.

Appearances can be very tricky especially in our dogmatic upbringing. We think, believe and feel the way we do due to conditioning.

Just because it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck, we now know, in the year 2012, it could be a holographic/CGI image. We just can't be too smug and comfortable anymore.

So in summation; does it look like migrating birds?
Yup.
Is it then in fact migrating birds?
Nope.
Could it be UFOs?
Yup.
Is it then in fact, a fleet of UFOs?
Nope.

Yes?

I'm pretty sure it's birds or bats. Like you say, it's a matter of perception. My perception is based on what I know of optics and perspective, that's all.

does your perception include the fact that birds, bats, and insects do NOT move in perfectly straight lines? the only birds that would possibly move in perfectly straight lines would be a dive bombing eagle/hawk/falcon, but as you can plainly see in the video they would be far too high, and not heading towards the ground.

these objects move perfectly straight, there are no visible moving parts.

explanations are very limited. most likely mundane explanation would be drones, but even then, why so many in one spot in formation?

Well, each object was only visible for a few frames... a few milleseconds. Birds don't fly perfectly straight, granted. Ask yourself how much variation in direction would occur in a few milleseconds. Having said that, I thought I could see a slight change of direction with some of them.

I didn't have the sound on and don't know if he mentioned it, but I'd guess the moon wasn't far above the horizon. It'd be less likely to be birds if the moon was at the zenith, because they would maybe have to be flying too high (miles up).

I believe he was being facetious because he doesn't want to commit, in public to any one opinion.
So if you're good at reading in between the lines, voice intonation and body language, he really believes there's a whole lot of shit going on up on the Moon.

This guy is a novice astronomer with modest equipment. He set out to video tape the super Moon the other night and kept catching these objects swarming in his field of vision.

He has several tapes on YT but this one is pretty interesting. Check out starting around 3:25

Comments appreciated!

Birds.

...especially since they are in silhouette.
If they were on or near the moon they would be lit up by the sunlight.

Just birds.

Re: Fleet of UFOs on the Moon?
Here's also a video in which between 0:08 - 0:12 a flying Thing flies across the screen, the author either didn't see it, thought it's a bug or whatever, cause it's not mentioned.

But in some times, there are bugs that fly, planes catched and so on, you'll just recognize a plane, but seems in this video, it also might be...either a saucer or a bug.
