Romney will not beat Obama so the only way a Republican wins the white house this year is a brokered convention that Ron Paul wins. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 11208970 United States 05/07/2012 12:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Im at work so cant get back to this thread as much as Id like. But this is a serious thread, about the future of this movement many of us have been involved with for 5 years now. Its about looking at what we have accomplished and what our goals should be moving forward. Cant believe its attracted trolls right off the bat. This is my message to the revolution, dont be discouraged by Romney's nomination, Obama will crush him and in 2016 we can hitch our wagon to Rand and keep making the strides that we have made over the last half decade. My point is dont let the movement die, it has to survive this one candidacy and this election cycle. Its not about the man its about the movement he created. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 11208970 United States 05/07/2012 12:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ron Paul is the revolution. Liberals are afraid as their agenda is collapsing all around them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12967405 Again, No. The revolution is the movement that Paul has created. We must take responsibility for that movement and make sure that it survives his political career. Paul is just the vehicle and it must continue. I would bet that Dr. Paul would agree with every statement I have made on this thread. We have made tremendous strides in five years, imagine what we will do in four more..... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1660185 United States 05/07/2012 12:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Another in the bag; Ron Paul wins Maine, page 1 I'm at the convention now, 15 delegates for Ron Paul, 6 more to elect and Romney's dickheads are trying to stuff the ballot with duplicate names to Ron Paul delegates, but that's pretty bland compared to all they did trying to rig the election yesterday...will tell more when I'm at a computer if people want to hear about it. Edit: have a bit of free time so here's what went on yesterday: the convention got delayed 2.5 hours off the bat because the Romney people came late after the first vote elected the Ron Paul supporting candidate with about a10% lead, Romney's people started trying to stall and call in their friends, the chair was a Ron Paul supporter and won by 4 votes some hours later (after Romney's people tried and failed to steal some 1000 unclaimed badges for delegates (mostly Ron Paul supporters) who didn't show everything was met with a recount, often several times Romney people would take turns one at a time at the Ron Paul booth trying to pick fights with a group of Ron Paul supporters in an effort to get them kicked out, all attempts failed through the course of the day the Romney supporters printed duplicate stickers to the Ron Paul ones for national delegates (same fonts, format, etc) with their nominees' names and tried to slip them into Ron Paul supporter's convention bags in an attempt to stall and call in no-show delegates, Romney's people nominated no less than 200 random people as national delegates, then each went to stage one by one to withdraw their nomination after two Ron Paul heavy counties voted and went home, Romney's people called a revote under some obscure rule and attempted to disqualify the two counties that had left (not sure if they were ever counted or not) next they tried to disqualify all ballots and postpone voting a day, while a few of the Romney-campaigners tried to incite riots and got booed out of the convention center |

Will all the Paul supporters at least make a pledge? That no matter what happens in Tampa, we wont vote for Romney or Obama. Thus, making it clear to TPTB that we will have no other candidate than one who advocates the return of this country to this Jeffersonian principles on which it was founded. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1068718 Netherlands 05/07/2012 12:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ron Paul is the revolution. Liberals are afraid as their agenda is collapsing all around them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12967405 What agenda? The help the poor agenda? That agenda is always in collapse and always still active. I would actually like to see a small government, but then also a solution against poverty, and I think I got one. Not sure if any politician has it, even Ron Paul. But well, Paul is also not on a platform to help those who struggle. Let me tell you my solution: Ok, first we need a small government that isn't about top down decision making. Then we need a culture change in how we run corporations. Right now we have those who own and control it, and those who work for it. And it gives a huge difference between rich and poor. What we should have is partnership and co-ownership. Everybody who works in a corporations, from the ceo to the cleaning lady, should be partner and get an equal share of the profit!!!! It is all about how many hours you put in, not about what you do. Then we also need to get rid of a lot of bullshit that makes up a corporations. Most of the bullshit is there just so the top decision can reach the bottom. But if we are all partners, if we all share equally in the profit and if workers are given a voice, we do not need a top deciding for the rest what to do. We can those who actually do the work make decision that affect them. All decision should be made by those that affect it, not just the top. And all need to agree, not just the majority. This way, we do not need weatlth redistribution, or a big government that is about spending. And we hardly have any poor. We can unlock our bikes, cars and houses again, cos nobody needs to steal. The end. |

I said we should not give up, we should fight for every delegate we can get. However, Im concerned about the younger voters that may be turned off when Romney is nominated. They need to understand how this is going to play out, and not be discouraged by this one election cycle. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 15617868 United States 05/07/2012 04:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, I appreciate your support for Ron Paul, thanks for all your postings. I hope you keep it up. I don't agree with you completely on things, but that's ok. You could turn that sentence around toward me and be just as justified to hold your views. I understand what you are saying about the need to change the Republican Party. If we can. I would rather do that as well. But just as you said this is a process in your opening remarks. If we have to go multi-party in the long haul, then, whether we want to or not, we may have to. I'm not talking this elections cycle either. I'm not advocating a RP third party run this time around. But I totally disagree with your comment that this was set up for a two-party system. You have swallowed the very cool-aid that enables TPTB to maintain control. No where in the constitution or in any U.S. government document in existence does it state that our political system is supposed to only support two (2) parties. Gross misunderstanding on that one, my friend. There comes a time when a people has to separate themselves from the corrupting influence of established proceedures and protocols that foster death and decay. In fact I will say with a certainty, that the day is coming when all people from both parties that can no longer, with clear conscience support their respective party platforms, they must leave and join with others that will bring the necessary pressures to bear on the government to return to it's constitutionally derived mandate. |
