History repeating it self, Heroin use on the rise as goverment cracks down on pain pills.
This is exactly how the late 70's and early 80's went, they passed out pills such as valium like candy in the late 70's then when the government takes the legal doctor pills away people turned to hard drugs. This has been a long time in the making.

This will end the same way as it did last time, people will die in droves.

Article from ohio;(Columbus) - As the state cracks down on pain clinics and prescription drug abuse, addicts are turning to a familiar drug to get their high: heroin.

"The amount of heroin that we've seized so far this year is up 60 percent compared to the amount of heroin we seized last year," said Lt. Anne Ralston of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

heroin works better, duh. and doctors label patients as addicts and quit giving them something they need so the patient gets it off the street. fuck our medical system.

Also if you didn’t hear its mandatory probation for first time heroin dealers! Judges are not allowed to give jail time.

BULLSHIT! People are having no problem getting pain pills, doctors hand these things out like it's candy.

And even if people are turning to heroin who gives a shit about some fucked up pain pill popping addicts anyways? No one in their right mind is going to shoot heroin unless they have drug problems to begin with

This is for real. I have experienced it first hand. I'm not addicted to them and I would never take anything over 10-15mg however, I have been diagnosed with occipital neuralgia and you would not believe how doctors act nowdays when you tell them you are in pain and non narcotic medicines don't help. I have been treated like a junkie plenty. The sad part is that in most other countries you can purchase low strength opiates otc. On the u.s however taking them makes you a junkie.

OP, you are totally right, I remember when the oxys suddenly appeared & were everywhere...dirt cheap too (late 90's). Then they became harder & harder to find as prices went through the roof. This is all while the Taliban controlled poppy production, keeping it minimal...we certainly took care of THAT problem! Now the brown frown is pennies to the oxy dollar.

I don't take pain pills, if I could get them I would.
I have crohns and they work perfect. They stop me up, take away the cramps and make me a happy camper.
Oh well

What countries can you buy them over the counter?

painkillers used to be easy to get when doc's would be getting bonuses from the big pharm companies for prescribing them. they're harder and harder to get after reports of high addiction rates and the sort have been circulated too. A few days ago at work a guy with diabetes came in complaining about how doctors labelled him an addict and wouldn't give him anymore even though he's about to lose his leg and his insides are failing. i had to look up a methadone clinic for the poor guy so he could get something to help him deal with this crap.

You don't want to go down that road, my friend. My best friend since childhood has crohns, and ever since his first morphine IV after his first surgery, he fell in love for the exact reason you described...10 years later he was shooting grams of H in one shot, his life had spun out of control...he always tried to relate how much pain he had. Luckily, he got clean (suboxone is a god-send) & now manages his crohns through a more conscious diet & he's in a MUCH better place.

bsflag

HEROIN USE IS ON THE RISE BECAUSE THE US GOVERNMENT CONTROLS 98% OF THE WORLDS POPPY PRODUCTION

IF THE US DID CONTROL 98% OF THE WORLDS POPPY PRODUCTION THEN YOU COULD BLAME SOME ELSE.

BUT NO ONE ELSE CONTROLS 98% OF THE WORLDS POPPY PRODUCTION. THE US IS IN FULL CONTROL OF 98% OF THE WORLDS POPPY PRODUCTION.

WHEN THE US GAINES CONTROL OF 98% OF THE WORLDS POPPY PRODUCTION. HEROIN PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION DID NOT DECREASE. NOPE IT SURE DID NOT.

NOW YOU SAY CONSUMPTION IS INCREASING? WELL WHO IS PRODUCING AND DISTRIBUTING THE HEROIN? WHO? YEAP THAT IS RIGHT THE US GOVERNMENT.

NOW ECONOMICALLY IF CONSUMPTIO/DEMAND INCREASES BUT PRICES REMAIN STABLE THAT MEANS THAT PRODUCTION AND DISTIBUTION HAS BEEN RAMPED UP TO MEET THE MARKET DEMAND FOR A PRODUCT.

ARE PRICES STILL STABLE? WELL LET US HAVE A LOOK

[link to www.havocscope.com]

YES IT APPEARS CURRENT MARKET PRICES ARE STABLE AND HAVE NOT INCREASED.

SO WHO IS PRODUCING AND DISTRIBUTING THE HEROIN TO MEET THE INCREASE IN CONSUMER MARKET GROWTH OF HEROIN? WHO?
DID YOU SAY THE US GOVERNMENT? YEAP YOU ARE RIGHT. DO YOU KNOW WHY?

BECAUSE THE US GOVERNMENT CONTROLS THE ENTIRE HEROIN MARKET.

THAT IS ALL.

I know that in Britain, new Zealand, India, and Pakistan. You can buy up to tylenol #3 strength otc. I'm sure there are other countries as well. Tylenol#3 is nowhere near the strenght of what junkies seek but, they are a miracle if you are indeed in pain.

always around the same time the war is over... i don't touch dope, know plenty of friends who turned to it because they could no longer snort oxycontin.

another friend slowly turned to shooting heroin.. i live in ohio, not too far from columbus.

i can tell you for certain, some of these big drug pushers moving big wait are directly connected to military bases and the military community.. i don't ask em where they get their drugs from.

This is a predictable cycle, the third one in my life time.

The crackdown on the pain clinics or "pill mills" started around January 2011.

This tune was written in 66, it still holds true today. Docs get paid to give out pills, everyone gets hooked on said pills, then the pills are removed and people find new places to ruin their lives.

Thx for the link mods, bumping a old thread because it is becoming more and more prevalent daily.

Doctors get people hooked on a drug then remove the drug the person is hooked on and the person goes to the black market.

[link to www.huffingtonpost.com]

Snip:HuffPost Live hosted a discussion Tuesday about who takes responsibility when we get hooked on painkillers -- The addicts? The doctors prescribing the drugs? The pharmaceutical companies? -- and how many inadvertent addicts and deaths the drug is responsible for.
