When I had a manufacturing and import business in the 1990s, I had the worst experience with mainland chinese. Not the Taiwanese, not the Hong Kong companies. It was very specifically mainland China, and other importers I shared experiences with had had the same conclusion

I don't know exactly what happened there during the 50 years of walled-off Communism, but it seems the ability of many people to have compassion, empathy and demonstrate basic social behavior (like not pushing old ladies off the bus, or giving a seat to a 9 month pregnant woman) went MISSING
