If a humanoid robot can put out fires on a ship; it will be able to wash dishes, mow lawns, cook food, really exciting stuff: The US Navy, and US Army/DARPA are really dumping a ton of money to advance the technology of these along to get a real workable humanoid robot soldier, and once you have that it will be pretty easy to tweak that for non military uses. Then it's just a question of getting the AI and the skin to where it needs to be. early to mid 2020's, It sounds weird now, but in 10 years everyone will want one, it will be one of those things people will wonder how they lived without. If you asked people about Television in the 1920s they would of said it was fucking crazy nonsense. Then when it came out everyone wanted one. this will be the same thing. |
