Unless a issue with the altimeter, this shows fuel exhaustion or a complete failure of the aircraft. Given it was cleared down to 6000ft, there's only one way it got to 3000ft and that was it's descent kept on going.

Had it been flying at the intended height the crash site would be nearer 5000-6000ft if not slightly higher.

There's no reason for the requested descent other than a photo op of the mountain they probably hit, strange as aircraft consume more fuel at lower altitudes.

Maybe some Russian billionaires just got the tickets to the Arks, and need to "disappear".

That would depend on how much fuel was on board. Perhaps the pilot knew ahead of time he wasn't going to make it and dumped all the fuel. Seems the only hope right now that maybe there might be survivors.

Indonesian air transport officials stated that the aircraft was flying at about 10,000 feet near Mount Salak at 3:30pm local time when the crew requested a descent to 6000 feet.

The request was granted by local air traffic control; this was the last contact that they had with the aircraft.

Radar contact was lost as the aircraft descended in a right hand turn at the previously requested height between Mount Salak and Mount Gede.

Mount Salak is 2,211 meters (7254 feet) high, nearby Mount Gede is 2,958 meters (9,705 feet) high.




This is what may have happened,i saw a post on PPRN from another pilot saying ATC almost flew her into the same mountain.

Wreckage faked after off-loading passengers to the bunker.

The most important thing I've seen posted in this thread is the fact the plane was only suppose to be about 50 minutes long, yet they say they lost contact with it after 1 1/2 hours so it was in the air 40 minutes longer than it was suppose to be at that point. Strange stuff.

Anyway, for some reason they did NOT return to the airport at the time they were suppose to return and stayed in the air 40 minutes longer. Gotta be a reason. If mechanical problems..seems they would have at least been headed back to the airport. Apparently that wasn't the case.

Hmmm so they say no report of mechanical problems BEFORE radar lost contact. But doesn't say anything about why the aircraft was out 40 minutes longer than it was suppose to be at that final contact time they had with the ground. Just strange, if that timeline is indeed accurate.
