The great flood of the days of Noah could NOT be physically possible!
Watch this video, talks all about the stupidity of the idea the great flood that supposedly happened as told in the Bible:

[link to www.youtube.com]

One point it brings up among others, is the fact that the water was said to have risen 15 cubits high (Genesis 7:20). A cubit is foot and a half, so that means the water would have had a depth of 22 feet total. It makes NO SENSE that the entire world could be completely and totally engulfed, drowned with nothing at all left alive outside the ark, by water that only went that high. It would be physically impossible for that to occur.

Thus one can deduce the great flood as told in the Bible could never have happened the way it is said to have, as it just does not work logically.

It's time we stop accepting and start thinking.

How do you explain the grand canyon? If the top of the canyon is 1000s of feet higher than the top of the colorado river, how did it form? How come there are no erosion marks between strata in the canyon? How do you explain polystrate fossils? end thread/

Oh really? Because your book you hold in such high esteem evidently says different. Observe:

Genesis 7:4

"Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”

21:23

Every living thing that moved on land perished—birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind. Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

You obviously don't know the Bible like you think you do.

Noah's flooding does not mean a complete flooding all over the lands...

Anyway, it may have happened at the end of Ice Age 12,000 years ago. The sea level used to be 300-400 feet lower than what it is now.

You assume I'm an atheist, but I am not. Just because I don't believe in YOUR God doesn't mean I don't believe in a God. Your religion, your book does NOT and never has owned God or the creator. To suggest that is pure arrogance.

Many people can and do believe in God, just a different one from you.

Remember that the planet is like 80% water. The continents, as big as they seem to you, barely rise above the surface of our massive oceans. Just because you can't fathom a force big enough to give a good slosh to the oceans doesn't mean it didn't happen. It would actually be very easy. And it would take months if not years to drain off. A minor galactic event would appear as a world wide flood to the simplistic human brain.

Besides that how are there 12,000 year old whale carcasses and shellfish found on mountain tops? Geology can't explain it unless they are 60 million years old. But 10 or 12 thousand? That's like yesterday.

If all water is recycled (ie it cycles), then how could there be more water on the Earth, than there was, water on the Earth?

Did a heap of water come from another planet to create the flood, and then suddenly dry up, and disappear out of our atmosphere?

Plus, the ark was only 450 feet long, yet it held a billion animals, plus food?! Nah, not even believable.

There's also the fact that these people who wrote the Bible wrote it THOUSANDS of years after the fact. That's somehow counting as eyewitness testimony? Not a chance that that works.

Ok even if there WERE 12,000 year old carcasses, even THAT wouldn't mesh with the Bible because according to it the world is only about half that, or 6,000 years old. So that doesn't work either.

And how would all that come from again....22 feet! There's no logical way to explain that, 22 feet is NOT gonna cover a mountain top 20,000 feet high.

No one is perfect. A babe before walking will first stumble and fall many times but NEVER gives up until he succeeds.

Always remember, ultimately, to never follow any person's belief. Your relationship with God is between you and God.

If nothing else, remember this: religion = subservience, control and conformity, the same template as EVERY government

Re: The great flood of the days of Noah could NOT be physically possible!

The "face of the earth" is only the middle east and every living thing except those in the ark were presumably wiped out.
Now you can prove me wrong if you can find in the Bible anything that speaks of lands across the ocean or of distant shores other than the many nations within the middle east.

Why would it not say that if that was the case? Is God so stupid that it's gonna tell us a great flood wiped the entire world out, but somehow forget the mention only the middle east is a part of that world? I somehow think not.

Well how could God forget to mention that there were distant lands across the ocean and not give specific info about these lands but give many details about the middle east? Did the rest of the world not matter to God?
Even the primitive Norse and Roman Gods knew there were distant lands across the ocean and their texts make reference to these lands.

You're pretty much proving why the thing doesn't make sense now lol.

Exactly the Bible was written by man for the lawless lands of the middle east it is no more the word of god than the stories from Norse mythology.
The only reason the bible is so widely spread is that the doctrines of the bible say to spread the word or the gospel to everyone and convert the sinners.
If the Norse beliefs held conversion to the same level we would all be praying to Thor.

It would have helped if you came right out with what your point was in your first post lol. But point taken in any case.
