The 70+mpg TDIs are 10% more pollutant per gallon, but half as pollutant per mile, when compared to their gasoline counterparts. Roads are (re)built via gasoline taxes, so going all super high fuel efficiency will leave most states broke and unable to maintain the road infrastructure. Or so their myth goes. thats the key here... half as pollutant per mile. and get this.. its not about the taxes... thats just a small part of it. in order for the communists to completely take over this country... they need to weaken us to the point we are consumed with survival. this is all about conquest. evidently
