i am apathetic about it....for the most part

yet do i need to go further ?? am i obligated to go further ??
 Quoting: Sugarelf

Obligated?

In what sense?

The chooser, chooses.

Right?

 Quoting: Seer777

no

you said in another post about teaching children:

"By engendering great empathy and selflessness.

Service to 'others' and to God."

isn't that why i feel obligated ??
 Quoting: Sugarelf

Obligation is a mixed bag, isn't it? Example: Some 'feelings' of obligation arise from Guilt. Some from Integrity.

Do you feel obligated to serve others? In what capacity? Through ideologies? Through humanitarianism? Through expression of knowledge?

I feel the same, though there is no obligation as part of that feeling.

There is a feeling that if I improve myself, then I can be of better service to others. Now we are getting into murky waters as ego can creep in by projection. Thank god there is a mirror to be looked into. Or better yet, invert yourself into the mirror so no matter the direction you look, you are reflected back at yourself.

 Quoting: Sugarelf

Once the difficulties are memory, then their purpose can more easily be assimilated into what you have become and what you are becoming. This is true for every soul.

At that point, they can be reflected on with a consciousness that is removed from distress, and they can be admired with a clarity that is humbling, and comforting.

BTW, Sugarelf, I never would have thought you would say that to me. I have always respected you, and...I don't know. I guess I am just humbled with your words. Thank you
