Advanced degenerative disk disease
Does anyone else have this? I was diagnosed last month with degeneration in my cervical spine. They never checked the rest of my back. No MRI or anything. Today i'm having severe nerve pain above my lumbar. The doctor gave me flexerial and told me to take tylonal for pain.
I cant move with out crying. So found some lortab 10s laying around the home and popping a few beers with it. Why are doctors so crappy.

So if you have this as well what are some good back and ab exercises to add to my routine? I dont plan on exercising today. Not until the pinched nerve pain goes away.

Any other natural ways to heal this? I've took 3 HOT showers and had the heat pad on the area.

I dont understand why he did not xray the rest of my spine or look further into it. I told him the pain radiates from my neck, shoulders and middle spine most days. Or and he gave me diflonimac. All these seem to be like placebos or something. Not that I am addicted to pills. Id just rather not take something that does not work and add to the toxicity in my body.

I was wondering what some good herbs for pain and muscles might be. Tried and true. crytissue

Re: Advanced degenerative disk disease
unless you can go somewhere for stem cell injections, you will more then likely need surgery and have the disc rehabilitated.

Usually they use tissue from a cadaver.

to prolong this you can find a chiropractor that has a device that can do light traction to relieve the pressure on the disc, but there is nothing out that can regenerate a degenerated disc.

I was in the same situation as you - several visits to a spinal decompression machine at the local chiropractor solved my issues....now pain and drug free. Give it a try!hf

Re: Advanced degenerative disk disease
Physical therapy can help a lot, they teach you ways of moving and even standing to brush your teeth, getting in and out of your bed and car, etc., that help relieve the stress on your back. And of course exercises and things to help relieve the pain. Physical therapy has helped me and people I know with DDD.

But also sometimes you just need some painkillers and it really sucks that doctors seem to be afraid to prescribe them. Not everyone is a pillhead but doctors seem so hesitant to prescribe anything for genuine severe pain.

Research serrapeptase and other systemic enzymes, OP. They do work. The only thing is you have to play around with the dose to find out what works for you. Some people only need 3 a day while others may need 9 or even more a day for awhile.

I have advanced degenerative spinal cord stenosis. I have nerve damage and two discs have gone and the bones fused. I have been popping oxycotins for years..along with diazapam..for the muscle spasms. End of last year I knew I was addicted to the drugs. I went cold turkey...horrible depression and anxiety..night terrors..sweats and nausea. I am doing much better now re the addiction...but the pain is horrible. My only relief is hydrotherapy. You have my sympathy..it's wretched.

Have you had dental work? You should consider the doctors are just bilking the insurance at your expense. The dentist puts in the metal fillings fortified with mercury. This often causes migraine headaches. Neither the dentist or doctor will ever admit it is these metal fillings. If you have this, you just need to have them removed. Pain meds until then hf

Please check this out. [link to serrapeptase.info] Scroll down and look at the left side of the page where it says pain of any kind. I've talked to several people who have gotten off of pain medications using serrapeptase and other systemic enzymes like Vitalzym which is a mixture of serrapeptase and other enzymes. One word of warning, some people experience more pain for the first few days, but then it gets better and their pain goes away.

I wish you the best of luck. hf I've been taking it for 2 1/2 weeks myself. I was waking up with pain in my sternum every morning and it would last for about 2 hours. Since starting the serrapeptase I either wake up with very little pain that goes away pretty quckly or no pain at all. I'm only been taking 3 a day of the 80,000 IU, but I'm going to increase the dosage as soon as I order some more.

This is a good article to read about serrapeptase and other systemic enzymes written by an MD. [link to www.newswithviews.com]

Re: Advanced degenerative disk disease
I have adv degenorative disease in my tailbone (epic center) and back vertibra areas i was told there's nothing that can really be done for pain wise but to mask it with medical products. Unfortunetly due to its location and its progressivness there is no remedy to fix it as the back muscles are also facing problems scaring and tearing to compinsating for the back and spending part time in a wheelchair is an option till evenually it becomes full time.

Being 33 years old and living with a back thats in its 60's isnt pleasent at all i can barly get enough sleep and sleep sitting in an upright position sometimes helps take the pain down.

Unfortunitly there is no easy street to take to compinsate this in my situation no operations can be done its to high risk of losing my legs completly. I do walk alot but it will still progress as this is a cycle that happens to elders in there later years but for some developes earlier.

In my case i will eventually have to compinsate life with a wheelchair i have about 7years left on my back before everything has enough so best is to monitor it with your doctor and adjust your life stlyes as best you can.

Just use the pain medication sparingly you dont want to get to adjusted to it make it less effective so sometimes its pain time and trust me i feel for you as sometime i dont want to feel at all i know what its like. I have to except it and let nature run its course.

Best of luck with it and no your not alone.

Try Lyrica, expensive but does help.

There is a fairly new treatment, day surgery. No disc replacement, but instead they use neuro-stimulation.

Re: Advanced degenerative disk disease
bone degeneration is due to the body's taking of the bone minerals to neutralize the acids that have built up in the body - this causes osteoporosis and degenerative spinal problems....there are books on the acid / alkaline diet, that urges you to eat more foods that act to alkalinize your body (fruits / veggies), and less protein-rich foods such as meat / carbs / dairy products / beer / sodas, etc....just go and research the subject, and on e-bay plenty of books on the acid / alkaline balance of your body. you have too much acid build-up in your body from overeating acid-causing foods ! simple as that.......your condition will improve once you go to the alkaline-choice of foods......
